Good news comes in threes...

I have an interview Tuesday with Quantum, the company that created the rubber and latex hero suits from Watchmen: Nite Owl II, Comedian, SS II, and Ozy.

Let me know if you have any questions for them.

Are they related to the nefarious Quantum organization from James Bond, and if they say "no," how do I know they're not lying because I know too much about their plot?

Heh. They shoulda done what TDK did, have a flamboyant villian upstage the hero at every possible moment to help disguise the thin plotline.

On topic... what's the Nite Owl cape made from? There seems to be a solution to the awful fabric cape that you see in cheapo youtube productions or older superhero movies. Is there a standard they are using these days or did they come up with a new variation?

I also have a few thoughts about the Nite Owl cape. In some shots (when Archie is lifting off from his cradle) the seems like it's just made of cloth, but in other shots (Nite Owl ejecting from Archie at the Keene riots) it seems to be made of thick plastic or something. Did they use a consistent material for the capes? Am I just hallucinating?

Could the cape have been CGI (like in Spawn) for some of the shots?

how much artistic liscence were they given with the designs and how does this compare to other projects that they have done

how involved was snyder with the process

how many different prototypes did they typically go through on a watchmen carachter

This is probably asking too much, but maybe you could ask about any involvement or design by a certain Neville Page?

Especially in relation to...

As for The Watchmen, I am not able to discuss what I had done in terms of creature. Perhaps later. The production designer [Alex McDowell] is amazing, so the production should be fantastic. I am really an industrial designer by education and half of my professional life was spent in this arena. Now, I am working as a concept designer but the focus as of late has been creature. Although, I personally love costume work and props, I am not doing much on current productions.
