There aren't many active forum members around here anymore. Even before the Ultimate Cut came out, I was starting to hear crickets every time I logged in.

What is the reason for this? Did most fans not like the movie? Is it just because it has been nearly a year, and this was inevitable either way? What if critics and audiences (both fans and non-fans) had loved the film and it was a box office hit...Would the forum be more alive right now? Is this just an inevitable consequence of the fact that there will be no sequel? Is it possible no one will even post any replies to this?

Maybe I just answered my own question by posting this topic.

We always knew that traffic would slow down once the movie came out.

I wouldn't worry about it, ROR-SHACK. The forum has certainly seen better days, but it's still here, members are still coming and posts are still being written.

I'd still like to see DDC review the Ultimate Cut for the frontpage before the end.

Members will start coming back once WATCHMEN 2: BACK IN THE HABIT begins production. No worries.

Well, worries...

But for other reasons.

Worry not, ROR-SHACK, I will be here with you until the end. I have a habit of not leaving forums until either there are literally no new posts or they stop paying for the website.

I think we have 15-20 semi-regular posters. Not too bad.

I'm one of them, although I don't post as much as I would like.

i think the amount of people here is just about right.
and you can pretty much take everyone who's posted in this thread and add about 5 or 6 more, and that's probably all of the regulars, you don't need many more than that.
one of the things i like about this place is that most of the regualrs are smart mediaphiles, the more regulars you have the more idiots you risk having.

I'm here pretty much everyday, I just don't post much because mostly everybody discusses things in a far more eloquent way than I could or people beat me to something I wanted to say. I don't mind, though. But yeah, I expected traffic to really calm down after the film had come out in all its incarnations.

Not true. I enjoy your posts, Dude.

I think one of the reasons there are so few of the regulars visiting is because a lot of them are either entering or continuing University/College. People like AYB, The Veidt Method, Ninjet, etc. A good portion of our regulars seem to be close in age. So they're probably too busy to check in as regularly as some of us do.

I think empire x wanted to give the forum a rest. I mean, he had a massive post count in so little time. Kingmob only visited the site to talk about the movie. I don't think he was ever into the social aspect, especially with how annoyed he would become with other forum members. Once the movie was out and he gave his opinion, he probably saw no point in returning.

For myself, I wasn't planning on visiting the site as much as I have but it's a tough habit to quit. The forum is always busy, and there's always interesting conversation taking place. You never have to wait long for a reply to any thread. I wouldn't continue to visit if the forum wasn't so constant.
