It looks like t3cii's diary-style posts are a huge hit. In fact, I heard that his full length anthology of them made the times best seller list:

This was a nice break after all the horrific and violent movies I've been watching recently. And it was just pretty great in general. It's really the type of film that makes you feel good. Now I should really go back and watch the first Muppets movie at the very least. I'm gonna need a lot of heartwarmingness to wash all that Clockwork Orange out of my gulliver.

I have had little interesting in jumping on the nostaligia wagon for this movie, but didn't know why. I grew up watching the Muppet Show, and Muppet Babies. But I think once Henson died and stopped doing the voices, my interest in the Muppets died with him. Also, I've come to the realization that I don't particularly like Kermit the Frog.

"Dear Diary,

Today wasn't the day it was meant to be. When the doorbell rang at five to six I thought Miss Piggy was a little early. Not that I'd have any problem with that. How could I have any problem with a woman so divine? As I opened the door my grin froze. Whereas I had expected to see Piggy's beautiful pink skin, what stood in front of me was small, weedy, and green...

I always felt sorry for Kermit. I mean, what if Piggy had rejected me instead of him? He was clearly every bit as in love with her as I am. Enough to make or break a soul. Unfortunately for his sake it was the latter, especially given how Piggy had the tendency to relentlessly flirt with "her Kermy", as if it would lessen the pain. Oh, my darling, she couldn't bring herself to let anyone down on purpose. I wonder if, one day, I'll end up the same. Standing on some schmoe's doorstop, switchblade in hand.

He tells me I can't see Miss Piggy. Not tonight, not ever. The look in his eyes tells me he means it. I don't make a sound. Just nod.

He watches as I load all my belongings into my little Renault. He's not as happy as you might expect, but then again I don't think he expected this outcome. I think he came expecting, maybe wanting no less, to put me in a hospital or worse.

I don't leave any note, any explanation for Piggy. As far as she'll know, I ditched town to pursue some other woman. Good. Let her think I've betrayed her.

She'll heal faster.

As I drive, it occurs to me that Kermit's love for Miss Piggy did differ from mine after all. Is her well-being his priority? The way he acts, no matter how strong that love is, it's as if he was in love with being in love, or maybe it just turned in on itself, consuming him, his object representing the unattainable that he can't live without. Will happiness continue to elude him now?

I no longer feel sorry for him. And with that, I realise that I never particularly liked Kermit the Frog.

The best part is that it actually may or not be an actual Groucho quote, it's that dead-on

And the fact that Skrulls were definitely going to be the primary villains of the Avengers video game.

I knew you were going to say that the game that got canceled is proof the Skrulls are the villains.

Monday December 19th 2011.
Godziller66's journal. Been waiting for pictures of Skrulls. Hurm. Doctor Brooklyn says theres a possibility of Atlanteans instead. I will not compromise here. Skrulls for sure. I do fear the worst however...
months will go by. No new evidence either way. New spanish trailer surfaces... waste of time. Feeling accute sense of dread as release date grows near. I tell the Doctor about the cancelled game... he merely shrugs. "What if it is Atlanteans, Ziller? What then?" Silence fills the air, as all the trolls, intellectuals, and smooth talkers will stop bickering and look up at me, waiting for my response... And I'll whisper: "If its Atlanteans..."

"I'll eat my hat."

Watched an old film tonight. Came out over a decade ago. Still, you may have heard of it.

What the hell is that? it's okay to watch obscure art films every now and then but don't expect us to know what they are when you talk about them, I for one have never heard of that movie, who wants to watch a movie about a bunch of jewelry dorks? Let me guess... its some European flick isn't it?
