7/10

Pretty good.

Though I felt the characterization was.......odd.

Only people who have basic knowledge of the X-Men know things could have only turned out the way they did. Everyone else would've noticed the lack of proper character development and sometimes-not-so-good writing, the score was also uneven and very generic at times.

Still, it has fantastic moments, such as Banshee's first flight, Magneto in almost every action scene, and my personal favorite:

DON'T. MOCK. ME.

Awesome sauce :D !

All in all, it's a good movie, even if it's not the deffinitive X-Men film some people might want.

This is coming from the guy who's only seen the theatrical cut of Watchmen.

Once was enough.

Sure. If it was the same movie.

I've only bothered with the TC once.
I agree.

NOW KNUCKLE DOWN AND SEE THE DC AT LEAST!

If I didn't like the theatrical cut, why would I like a longer version of it?

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the Watchmen movie either, but I watched the DC about a week ago and I actually quite liked it.

Its not simply longer, its different.
See it and then blame me that I wasted your time.
And thats pretty much all you'll lose.
Time. And the next time you get stuck watching a TRULY shitty movie, remember you still have that opportunity to watch the DC and prove us all wrong instead.

My mom hasn't found the time to see a movie in ages, but I picked up Beginners in one of my Blockbuster raids and I convinced her to watch it with me.

That movie is still one of my favorites from last year. And I think she still enjoyed it even more than I did.

EDIT: In regard to the issue of running time, I defer to something (I'm pretty sure) Roger Ebert once said: "A good movie can never be long enough, and a bad movie can never be short enough."

Because it's a different film. The theatrical cut was compromised, to say the least, by the running time allowed by 2 IMAX reels. The story is better, and characters are fleshed out that didn't get a look-in in the theatrical cut.

Hated the TC, really liked the DC.

In honor of yesterday's romantic hoopla, I watched this movie... like I have every Valentines Day for the last few years, not only because it is a dark take on a day I despise... but it's also my favorite slasher movie.

Nice.

Anyway,

Great as always.

Pretty good, I had forgotten how horrifying it really gets towards the end. Also, I never realized before that Michael Crichton directed as well as wrote it.

This was a pleasant surprise. The experience was probably enhanced by watching it with a large group of people, but we all went into it thinking it was more than likely going to suck and came out of it thinking that it was actually very good. We had a ton of fun throughout the movie itself too. It was kind of like BattleBots, but a lot more interesting to watch.

Becomes a whole different movie when viewed as a metaphor for 1950's American males feeling emasculated and small-penised by a conservative and restrictive society...
