Well, you got it right the first time for what it's worth.

Contraband - 6.9/10

Not a bad movie. But not the action thriller it was marketed to be.
For once a hero who uses his brains over using a gun.
For that, it was good.
Otherwise... its pretty lightweight. =/

WTF is a 6.9? What stops a movie from being a 7 and not even a 6.5, but instead the awkward and somewhat sexual 6.9?

Because I believe a solid 7 to be completely enjoyable.
Contraband was only a few nitpicks shy of that.

6.5 is a more dismal rating.
I don't even qualify that as good.

6.9 is worth a look.

6.5/10

The huge problem with this one is that its written as a comedy.
Everything is written as a joke. Not one thing can be taken seriously.
And what's worse is that most of the jokes aren't even funny.
Frank the Pug is obnoxious, Sarleena is a pathetic villain, and the story is horrible.

The saving grace of this movie, if you can say it has any at all, comes from Will and Jones' chemistry.
The stuff with them, when they're sharing screentime, is genuinely funny and has a welcome feeling of familiarity for fans of the first one.

When the script tries to give Smith more humor to grapple with, its not funny.
It feels forced and over the top, and way too awkward.

The only one here who does great all across the board is Tommy Lee Jones.
No complaints there.

I suppose, all the gadgets and gunk are enough to burn though a couple hours to kill with Smith and Jones.
However, seeing the movies back to back really highlights how much better the first one is, and how massively inferior this one is.

Funny, why should this be a problem ? Wasn't this movie meant for the times where you can "lay back and have fun" ?

If there's anything good about MIB 2, it's that the story was really great...............on script.

It's larger in scale, and at the same time it's more personal, while also doing SOME effort to approach the source mythology in an intelligent way, sadly, the execution was shit.

very shit.

And this is the third time I've seen it.
I hold it in the same regard as M:i:II.
They're OKAY movies that I'll allow myself to have fun with like one every couple years.
But, that doesn't mean they're GOOD movies.

MIB (the first) is actually a good movie.

This movie is kind of, weirdly, amazing. At least The Fast and the Furious films take place in something resembling reality; I'm convinced that Torque's setting is of an insane post-apocalyptic world where rednecks and bikers have taken over the world, and Adam Scott can be taken seriously as an FBI agent.

I'm glad that something this crazy can exist.

*Honestly, this film should be a 7, but any movie ending with a "bike-fu" scene gets props.

I was expecting a low-budget alien invasion movie. I got a sci-fi allegory about American/Mexican relations.

I'm cool with that.

District 9 did it better.

Also, I finally saw The Incredible Hulk.

Hmm, I do like how these films have all been connected to each other (Ang Lee's Hulk, TIH and Avengers), despite different actors and a technical reboot.

Overall, I'd say 6.5/10.

I wish it was connected to Ang Lee's Hulk, but it's really not, I assume the fact that Hulk ends in South America and TIH begins in South America is a coincidence, especially considering the fact TIH was going to start with Banner in Alaska,

HAHAHA

I can't even think which of many gifs are appropriate to express the many emotions that come from seeing someone rate this a 5 or higher. This movie was terrible and an absolute fast and furious rip off. Even Biker Boyz was better. The action set pieces were trash, the acting was trash, the writing was trash, and worst of all the direction was a steaming pile of trash on a hot summer's day.

but they even reference that deleted scene in the avengers! which makes me like mark ruffalo more as banner/hulk.

Be real dude.

You watched that while on meth.....................it's the only possible explanation.

I remember I was excited when I saw that film, I left SO dissapointed, it's quite dumb.

Well, no fucking shit it's dumb. Did you think I'm giving it an 8 because I thought it contains some type of under-appreciated brilliance? Oh no--Torque is quite dumb; however, unlike the various Fast and the Furious films (including the rip-offs), Torque is so damn self-aware of how fucking stupid the whole racing culture actually is, it becomes kind of charming.

Unless I forgot about the overall tone of the movie, I don't even remember it being self-aware.........................just stupid.

First time watching The Big Lebowski, I bought it on bluray solely on the fact I've never heard a bad word about it, and I don't regret it for a second, it was a brilliant movie, great cast and hilarious.
