I watched this tonight, and it's just as funny the second time around. Made me participate in some Kung Fu time... well, Tae Kwon Do time... but close enough.

"HAH!!! I THREW THAT SHIT BEFORE I CAME INTO THE ROOM!!!" *kick in the face* God, I love this movie.

6/10

Its been awhile since I've seen an ending that absolutely makes my blood boil and manages to bring down the rest of the film. It's a shame since London Boulevard, despite being somewhat of a middling British crime drama, is raised by some exceptional acting by both Colin Farrell and Ray Winstone (<3), and it certainly is a well-directed film.

BUT GODDAMMIT THAT ENDING IS AWFUL. Made even more so because I actually read the novel the film is based on years ago.

Is it a sad ending?
Cause I've REALLY wanted to see this...
but I'll steer the fuck clear if it is.

Get the Gringo - 9/10

Surprisingly fun and well made.
Endlessly clever and a return to top form for Mel Gibson.

The Dictator

There were a few funny jokes, but it generally seemed like the filmmakers had no idea who they wanted to offend.

Give this one a rental if you're curious, but don't bother going to a multiplex for it.

I pirated it but
its actually available on VOD services out here too.

Its actually pretty funny in a dry sort of way, our protagonist is actually very smart, the story is really good, and theres a few very well staged bloody shootouts. No shaky cam here gentlemen.
Though I'd be lying if I said the shootouts and action scenes were the most rewarding bit of the movie.

definitely check it out.

It's more of a "....why the fuck are th-YOU HAVE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME!!! THEY DID NOT JUST FUCKING DO THAT!!!!" type of ending. I have no problems with "sad endings," where the heroes don't win--provided that it makes sense, of course. The last 10 minutes is an absolute train-wreck, which culminates into a giant "fuck-you" ending. I'd almost suggest watching it so I can have people on here rage with me.

Good to know that I can still feel validated in liking Mel Gibson as an actor.

Never even heard of it, although I heard his new movie "how I spent my summer vacation" is pretty good.

Edit: Image search "Get the Gringo" half the posters are named "How I Spent My Summer Vacation"

Sound of My Voice

I'm pretty sure this is the first real contender for my annual "Top Masterpieces" list.

EDIT: Actually, I just checked and that would be "The Grey."

Still, the point stands: Sound of My Voice is an astonishing movie that I highly recommend.

The Grey kind of sucked.

He's a cool guy, but he's like Nicolas Cage, he just takes any role offered to him now.

But I don't blame him for taking The Grey, I can understand it sounding pretty great, but I can't help but feel it was all just kind of pointless and stupid after watching it. I'd say it utilized Neeson's acting skills well, though.

D'oh, lol I think the UK title is better, gringo is a bit racist.
