Feli, which cut of Aliens did you watch? The first time I saw Aliens it was the Extended Cut, and I felt like it was far inferior to Ridley Scott's film. I bough the Alien Anthology on blu-ray ror Christmas and watched the Theatrical Cut of Aliens and enjoyed it a lot more. The pacing was far better. It helps that the Blu transfer is gorgeous, it felt less aged than the DVD release.

And the Alien 3: Assembly Cut is so underrated. It's that dark, nihilistic, "nobody is safe" atmosphere that makes it so great. Of course, if you're attached to Aliens it will definitely come as a "Fuck you" to some people, but if you're willing to put that aside you'll enjoy a great film.

Hurm. Next time I watch Aliens, I need to watch the Theatrical Cut. Also, I apparently need to re-watch the Alien 3 Assembly Cut.

I have no idea which cut did I watch, still, I can't see how some issues might be solved, I can't "unsee" the stupid space marines, Ripley duct-taping a fucking rifle and a flamethrower, the "Xenomorph Mother", and the last "Mech Battle".

Still, I'll admit the design of the Alien Queen was just fucking amazing, the shape of her head ? Magnificient.

James Cameron's movies in general are corny. But it actually works in Aliens as opposed to Avatar.

There has to be a way to convince you Avatar is not a bad film !

Prometheus was a million times more visually appealing than Avatar, in my opinion.

Well, H.R. Giger's amazingly awesome designs may have had something to do with that.

Also Iceland.

Sorry if I'm getting my thoughts across the wrong way, I don't want to give the impression that I thought it was bad, if I saw a better cut I could probably up my score a little, but as it is, I feel it is a very different movie from "Alien", in the hands of someone else not named James Cameron, this movie could've been a complete clusterfuck.

That grey seems kind of unnatural, maybe I need to see the movie to better apreciate it, but from the trailers that shit looked like it was an entire field of ash.

Whenever I glimpse something from Avatar, I feel like saying, "Hey, where's my buddy, the Arbiter?"
