Sorry kids, the Mayans were wrong! The end of time is coming a year early! Though I'm not going to lie, Bay's scathing paragraph to Megan Fox made me laugh hysterically.

Great, another installment and I sure hope it would be just as great as the two films which preceded this one. Although the idea of the whole franchise being turned into some kind of a teenage pop culture fad don't sit well with me, in my opinion, but I still liked how the effects and the whole story being played out, not forgetting those Transformer robots as well. And yes, I hope they can still rope in Mr. Peter Cullen again for the future Transformer film, he did great for the G1 cartoon series voiceover of Optimus Prime though, so it's a little touch of nostalgia in these three films.

I really don't see how that co-star change is going to work in the movie. It also gives off the feeling that hot girls are just interchangeable.

That's not what the article is about.

They mention it at the end so get off my back.

I knew someone would say that.

While Megan Fox isn't the best actress ever, she still has a history in those movies so it feels really cheap to just replace her.

I doubt it's the same role.
Film franchises do this all the time, just look at Men In Black and Burton's Batman.
In fact, take a look at Nolan's batman. What he did was even worse, because it WAS the same role.

Rachel Weisz had a history in the Mummy franchise. They replaced her for the third one (bad idea IMO). But it goes to show you that hot girls ARE interchangeable. Also it's in the Megan Fox thread that the new girl is a new character, so we don't have to worry in this case. HOWEVER, getting back to the main reason I posted the article...

I still doubt that this is the same role.
They'll probably say that fox's character moved to cybertron or something. I dunno.

You guys are missing the point. I know it's not the same role. What I meant was that her character had a history in the movies and it just feels cheap to replace her with some other hot girl.

Did you really have higher expectations from Bay and this whole franchise though?
It's pretty much the definition of cheap entertainment.

Not really and you're right.

I guess it's just the principle of the thing.

Honestly, I think that Shockwave should have been the villain they brought out last time. He's a well-liked and strongly established character in the Transformers universe, as opposed to The Fallen, who was so obscure that even the most hardcore Transformers fans were left scratching their heads.

I consider this an act proving that Michael Bay knows just how much of a disappointment the last movie was. Whether he's capable of actually fixing his past mistakes is anyone's guess.

Isn't it funny how a movie can be universally derided and still make enough to warrant a sequel?

considering it was one of the top grossing films of the year, i don't see why not.

I haven't seen either of these movies, but I hear that they are incredibly stupid and have no respect for the source material.

Well actually she very very wisely (Weiszly?) rejected them.

yeah but it was like the batman thing. they used a not-as-hot-as-the-last-girl girl and it failed. also, wiki page says that weisz dropped out due to script stuff and just having given birth at the time (makes sense).
