I found it amusing that the soundtrack to that movie was more popular than the film itself. Even spawned a sequel soundtrack. I own both.

Chinatown, I've made a couple of people watch it. Once they realized what the hell is going on, it's a pretty fucked up movie and they acted accordingly.

It's a list and I can't explain 'em all, or I'll be here for hours and I need to find a style for my haircut tomorrow afternoon.

-An American Crime
-A Clockwork Orange
-Monty Python and the Holy Grail
-Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
-Daft Punk's Electroma
-Cloverfield (Yes, I'm a total whore for this movie)
-Be Kind, Rewind
-Detroit Rock City
-Full Metal Jacket
-Labyrinth (David Bowie's package is totally visible in thos pants, but the movie's still good. Jim Henson!)
-No Country For Old Men (Words can not describe...)
-Office Space ('Yeeeahh, I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday....')
-Pulp Fiction ('Reach in there and grab my wallet. It's the one that says Bad Motherfucker')
-The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Because transsexualism is just that great, and it's Tim Curry)
-The Science of Sleep (Weird in it's own right)

It may just be me, but I think my list is impressive for a 16 year old.

Taxi Driver. I saw that for the first time a few weeks ago, and the next day, I made three of my friends sit and watch it with me. They were all blown away.

'Angel Heart'. It's a film that manages to pull off what 'The Prestige' failed at. Namely, a prestige. Don't know about you lot, but it had become pretty obvious what the twist of (the nevertheless brilliant) 'The Prestige' was about 15 minutes before the 'reveal'.
"Angel Heart' worked 100% for me, and a few years later I showed it to a few friends, and it worked for them too. It's great when the central character (in this case played by a top-of-his-game Mickey Rourke) has his moment of realisation at the same time as you. Alan Parker directing at his best, Robert DeNiro, and the sex scene that got Lisa Bonet kicked off 'The Cosby Show'. Brilliant.

DeNiro made a much better devil than Al Pachino in the Devil's Advocate, even though I still love it.

All of my friends have to see "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" these days. I just love it!! (and most of them love it, too, so far...)
Oh, and everybody needs to see "Braveheart". Yeah...! 8-)

In less than a month of course I will take everyone to see "Watchmen". Everyone!

Looks like I finally have to check out "Angel Heart".

I forced a buddy of mine to watch Eraserhead one night...his jaw was dropped the entire time and when it was over all he could say was, "What the fuck was that?"

Tetsuo: The Iron Man.

If you want to really want to have some fun at other people's expense, watch that film with friends.

I do agree with some of the other choices that have been presented, though. Eraserhead, for instance, would be a great choice.

Another possibility is Ken Russell's The Devils (the uncut version).

I'm pretty sure I was one of the few 8th graders who had "Man of Constant Sorrow" memorized

C'mon, it's a great movie! I saw a stage version starring Anthony Head a few years ago. Watching REPO! was odd, as I couldn't get his preformance as Frank out of my head... :?

I managed to convince a few girlfriends to watch Little Children. After the movie, we were arguing whether Patrick Wilson or JEH was hotter. I'm still torn... :(

If you've seen it, it's self-explanatory.

ITT: Movies you HAVE to see while stoned.

And I'll say this only because it hasn't been mentioned before: A Scanner Darkly. It was great and so different than most other movies every time I hear that someone hasn't seen it I have to rave about it for a while.

That movie was as fucked up as a David Lynch film. It was good, I thought. The book was confusing as all hell though. What style of animation was used for that?
