I need you guys to help me with finding one that I saw a LONG time ago. I've been googling it constantly and have come up empty handed.

I saw this when I was like 4 in Mexico. It was a show that consisted of maybe 3-5 parts (maybe?), and was about the atom bomb (or it could've been some other explosion thing) hitting a girls' school. Each part told the story of each of the girls before and up to the explosion. Either after or before each segment, it showed live action "interview" footage of each of the girls relatives or friends (now old geezers). I remember at least one of these having a burned shirt supposedly from the girl.

It was a fantastic show, and I've never been able to find it again.

Anyone have any idea of what the hell this might be?

That sounds really good, but I'm sorry to say that I can't help you if Google couldn't.

Eight is the epic potato chip eating so yes it does.

Anyway, it gets much crazier than that. Everything gets knocked up a million notches halfway through the series. Even the opening.

A question which I have been meaning to ask for a while.... Why do the Bleach fans hate Naruto fans? (And don't just say because Naruto is shit)

Yo. Anime related.

http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2010 ... 1963-2010/

His death reminded me that I need to check out the rest of his stuff. I've only really seen Paranoia Agent and Paprika and Paprika could certainly use a second viewing.

I've seen some shows like Naruto and Avatar:The Last Airbender, Cowboy Bebop, and Bleach

and honestly?

Naruto is extremely immature and is fodder for toy companies to exploit 9 year olds into buying all the shityy merchandice that goes with the pointless show.

Cowboy Bebop is an excellent show.
i reviewed it here: http://gentlesadist.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... bebop.html

and i never was too impressed with anyother anime series, occasionally i'll pop in some DBZ to kill time and have a bit o' fun but yeah ...
I'd definately like to get into some anime like Death Note, and a few others i've seen suggested on this thread.
never seen any death note.
at all.

*shrug*

Do it.

And check out Paranoia Agent if you like Surreal/Mystery/Horror at all. It's only thirteen episodes long so it's not too backbreaking.

its ironic really how you say that and yet i felt 'bebop' was over too soon in 26 episodes.
i guess in today's world with ridiculously long running shows like DBZ and Avatar, i like the character exposition that takes place in a long running show like that. But oh well sometimes the shorter it is, the richer the flavor. :D

I went to a fairly sizable anime convention today. It was really cool and I actually learned some stuff. There was this one thing with this guy in the ball room called History of Mecha 101. It was basically a youngish guy rambling on about the history of the mech genre, but it was really good and he praised the series, Legend of the Galactic Heroes so I'll have to check that out.

I also saw an episode of Eden of the East and Reborn in the screening rooms. I'd like to see more of the first, but Reborn is just a typical action Jump series so I'll pass on that one. Catchy opening, though.

And yeah, there was this really funny improv group there called the 404s (Zoidberg Hitler happened) and I got cool swag like a set of Kanto gym badges so it was a good day. Should have gone in my Light get-up, though.

Next time...

Edit: I'm also interested in Gantz and Gurenn Lagann. Which I'm pretty much putting here as a reminder note to myself.

My friend bought a huge Gurenn Lagann logo flag while we were there. He doesn't have anywhere to put it, but I helpfully suggested that he fly it proudly on the porch of his house.

I highly recommend Paranoia Agent and Serial Experiments Lain if you are in the mood for something awesome and heartbreaking. The latter does get a while to get going and is VERY confusing, but extremely intriguing nonetheless.

And I already finished Death Note and I highly recommend it, although it does lose a lot of its steam towards the end. Azumanga Daioh is cute and hilarious all the way through. Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei is awesome, incredibly funny, but incredibly random. Don't expect any narrative coherence from it.

My friend who suggested Gurren Lagann also suggested that. I've got a lot of stuff to see.

I think that my college club is watching that. So I'll see it if I go to the anime nights. Which I probably will.

Yeah I watched all of Azumanga Daioh a couple of years back.
It's actually pretty good.

It's a great anime. Speaking of depicting the lives of girls:

One of the funniest anime I've seen this year. And I typically hate these kinds of shows.

I decided to start watching Gurren Lagann. I'm seven episodes in and it's crazy awesome.
