Well, I know if I was Phil, and I was suspicious Kate wasn't really a DHARMA recruit, I sure as hell wouldn't be trying to get her kicked out. Possibly homosexual? Must investigate further...

Yeah, cute title.

So we're finally going to see the famous "Incident". And as the finale! Will this episode be the end of of the Oceanic 6 in the 70's? And what is the Incident? Saywer and Hurley touched briefly on "The Purge", but that didn't take place until the early 90's? They wouldn't need to start worrying about that just yet, would they? Also, at some point Daniel will need to meet up with Chang to film the video of Chang telling The Dharma Initiative to reform after the purge, and that time travel is a reality.

I'm not the only one who felt warmth in my pants at the "Dead is Dead" description, right? It's basically "The smoke monster appears in this episode and does shit, do you need another reason to watch?"

I haven't been reading the spoilers (besides general ones like these) so I don't want to be told if I'm right or not, but I think Sayid is going to die this season. Last season I think was his best season and the writers really tried to bring him into the story, something I don't see them doing this season. The promo for the next episode has a feel of finality to it, with Sayid realizing why he is on the island. They even have [spoiler]cast a kid to play his younger self[spoiler], which means he'll flashback to his childhood. A flashback at this stage of the game makes me think they're going to off him. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think Sayid's a goner yet. I think they're trying to lead us down that path with the infamous "flashback curse," which in actuality has only claimed three victims: Shannon, Ana-Lucia, and Eko. They've played with us in the past (Charlie in "Greatest Hits," for example, though he did end up biting the dust the next episode) so the advertising department is definitely aware we know about the "flashback curse." If anything, I'd say Daniel dying in "The Variable" is more likely, as he and Ben are the two characters who are on the chopping block this season: in other words, one of them will die.

I think they never mentioned a specific time for the Incident. All we know is that it happened and since then, the button must be pushed. Now that I think about it, the Dharma Orientation video had a copyright dated 198-something.

And about the video: That could be shown in a quick scene, like Daniel talking with Chang and he looks very frightened or something. It's not that important, all they have to do is to say that Chang knows about it because of Daniel, we don't need the explicit scene of them making the video.

Thanks for that, BlackDoomShadow!

I'm really enjoying this season - I'm glad that it looks like, apart from the recap episode, there will be a new episode every week until the season finale. But those week long waits are horrible. :(

By the way, we do know who has the finale's flashbacks, but it's an incredibly huge spoiler that I've left in inviso-text on the wiki link if you must know.

I thought last night's episode was okay, but next week's will be one of the best. Ever.

Totally agree, best episode of the season. Even the way it was shot looked good. I was worried about the season after the last less then remarkable episodes, but this one had a lot going for it. Ben episodes always seem to get better than the next.

Daniel! Nooooooooo!

Okay, pretty good episode. Well, at least in the last 5 minutes. Daniel got on my nerves after a while. I was afraid after the so-so Miles episode that the season wouldn't be off to a good end but at least this provided a bit of jolt.
