I took a look at a couple of sites and I'm noticing how much work Zack Snyder has given himself for the next few years. IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0811583/

He's currently doing the CGI Animated movie Guardians of Ga'Hoole (2010), based on a series of books. The Synopsis: Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's.
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219342/

After that, he's got 5 films on his slate:

Sucker Punch (2011) Synopsis: Sucker Punch is a movie about little girl who is trying to hide from the pain caused by her evil stepfather and lobotomy. She ends up in mental institution and while there she starts to imagine alternative reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. Story is set in 1950's.
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978764/

The Last Photograph (2010) Synopsis: A drama about two men and the photograph that inspires them to travel to war-torn Afghanistan.
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1124380/

Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man (2010) : Synopsis: None
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1094667/

Heavy Metal (2010) Synopsis: A series of animated shorts inspired by the 1981 cult-favorite film.
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1202580/
Note: Snyder is 1 of 5 Directors attached to direct a segment in Heavy Metal. The 5 are David Fincher, Kevin Eastman, Tim Miller, Gore Verbinski and Zack Snyder.

Cobalt 60 (2011) : Synopsis: A masked hero living in a post-apocalyptic world filled with mutants sets out to avenge his parents' brutal murder. Based on the cult comic book by Vaughn Bode.
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0889132/

I don't expect Snyder to stay attached to all of these nor do I think they will come out in the year they're listed in, at least not all of them. I would bet he'll either drop one or re-schedule a couple of the ones above. Especially after seeing him in that CHUD.com interview, the man looks like he needs a long vacation with the ms. for awhile.

Nonetheless though, He has some interesting projects in his slate. With Heavy Metal, Sucker Punch and The Last Photograph being the most interesting to me. I like where's he going when it comes from his selection of movies, moving from A Horror Remake and 2 Comic Adaptions.

Sucker Punch, The Last Photograph and The Illustrated Man are the ones I´m looking the most forward to. I hope they don't stay as planned films.

A remake of Heavy Metal? Meh. Heavy Metal 2000 was awful, but I don't think this is one of those films that should be remade. Hopefully, Snyder will either do an impressive job, or drop his name.

Cobalt 60 sounds like it could be pretty good.

I'm not sure if Snyder's Heavy Metal project is a remake; it seems like they're making it into a trilogy. Heavy Metal 2010 perhaps?

Heavy Metal will be directed partly by Snyder, partly by Gore Verbinski, and partly by David Fincher.

i can't beleive they still have "Untitled 300 Sequel" listed on imdb, everyone knows it's not happening, or if it does, it will either be a long way off or not under snyder.

anyway, i'm kind of looking forward to Army of the Dead that he is producing, loved his dawn of the dead remake. and i can only see it being at least good.

i thought the 300 sequel was supposed to start when miller finished writing it? if he even wrote a sequel.

the only thing i've ever heard about it was snyder saying that IF millar wrote it, he would make it, i didn't even know that millar had started writing anything.

The release of "Watchmen" is not stopping Zack Snyder from working on his upcoming projects.

In fact, Snyder is busy casting "Sucker Punch," and according to the Hollywood Reporter, Amanda Seyfried is in negotiations to join the cast.

Also in talks to board the project are Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood and Emma Stone. Interesting, interesting!

The fantasy action flick is set in the 1950s, and centers on a girl locked inside a mental institution. During her stay there, she imagines an alternative reality in which she plans her escape by trying to steal five objects she needs to regain her freedom.

The trade says Seyfried would play the lead character, while the others would star as her inmates, who will also show up in her imagined reality.

A film about a bunch of hot actresses locked up in a crazy house? Sounds fun and creepy at the same time, doesn't it?

Seyfried starred in the dreadful adaptation of "Mamma Mia!" Cornish, the star of the fantastic drama "Somersault," also played in "Stop-Loss." Stone recently appeared in "The Rocker."

Although I am not a fan of any fo those actresses (except maybe Evan Rachel Wood= I am really curious to see what Snyder has in store for this one.

Looks like Snyder won't be directing The Last Photograph, instead, it'll be Sergei Bodrov (Nomad) in charge.

I'm actually intensely curious about the cartoon he's working on. I mean that's not the type of project I would expect out of him, especially since animation is sort of considered a hole for directors to die in. Every animation director, unless s/he's just in love with the art form, is eternally trying to escape from the animation ghetto. Even Brad Bird, who is in love with the art form, is trying to claw his way out of being considered an animation director. Directing animation is not something most live-action directors are interested in doing, except perhaps as a novelty.

I just wonder how he's approaching it. Is he secretly in love with animation? Did he just want to try out directing a cartoon? Expand his resume? Was he just really into the story (the fact that it is an animated project having little or nothing to do with his decision)?

His very visual approach to filmmaking seems well-suited to animation, so maybe he'll do a really good job on this.

I have a gut feeling his Heavy Metal Segment will be similar to TotBF, not in story but artistically

Sucker Punch sounds cool, and Amanda Seyfried, she was the daughter in Mamma Mia! right?

(and MM! wasn't bad... don't ask how I know that)
