Adam McKay has Confirmed he is Directing

Quote:
The Boys is an American creator-owned comic book series, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson. It was originally published by Wildstorm before moving to Dynamite Entertainment.

The series is set in a contemporary world very much similar to the real one, with one notable exception: a number of people have some form of superpower. The series follows a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as "The Boys", whose job it is to keep watch on superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or kill them.

he also confirms a Rated R Rating and comparisons to Watchmen
Quote:
He said, “it doesn’t work unless it’s R.” He also said he told Sony it has to be R and they are on board with the rating. McKay then compared The Boys to Watchmen by saying it’s a “current day Watchmen” and he went on to say it looks at what a hero is and “places it in a time where monopolies have bought our country and you incorporate that as well.” Says he hasn’t been that excited about something in a long time.

and also said he Wants Simon Pegg in the movie since Wee Hughie was drawn after him

My dream cast has this so far (from the comic thread)
Butcher: Gerard Butler
Wee Hughie: Simon Pegg
The Female: Yeah... I'm having trouble with this one
The Frenchman: Jackie Earle Haley (Not sure why, but I think he'd do pretty good with this character)
Mother's Milk: Dennis Haysbert (You Americans know him as the Allstate guy)
The Legend: Danny Devito
The Homelander: Nathan Fillion (even though he has been cast as Antman)
Queen Maeve: Julianne Moore
Black Noir: Doens't matter because he only has two words in the entire 40+ issues
The Deep: _____________________
A-Train: I'm probably going to get some flack for this... NPH. think he would be very good in this part
Jack from Jupiter: It will probably just be a voice role, so I want Kevin Conroy
Starlight: ____________________I actually think a young reese witherspoon would have kicked ass as Starlight, now she is too old for the part.

yeah about the female, i think both Owen and Butler could pull off the butcher, and also Michael Duncan is too old for MM,

Dennis Haysbert (The Allstate guy)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAIGO-Ag ... re=related (The African American guy with the beard)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIJzuR4_YxI (an interview)

He was also president palmer on "24"

And fun fact, he voiced Kilowog on the JL TV show

Well, presumably there would be two franchises going on at one time, which could be quite a bit for an actor, especially if he wants to branch out and do other stuff

true, i guess it depends on whether he is a comic fan, ryan reynolds seems to be happy being green lantern and moving forward being deadpool.
