I thought about that, too. But then it occurred to me that Marvel, Paramount, and Disney might easily go over his head and release the thing anyway. I don't know if they could do that, but I'd say it's in the realm of possibility.

True. But they couldn't market it as a 'Director's Cut'. It would have to be called the 'Wow extra added stuff we took outa the FinalCutPro trash bins and jammed in there looks awesome wooohoo!!' cut.

I think a 'Director's Cut' might include the shawarma (sic) scene at the end, which was only seen in the states, and that's it.

Well, from what I heard there were more Captain America scenes, but those got cut for a more global appeal (don't know if that was truth or rumor though)

I doubt they were cut for global appeal. People seemed to lap up the Captain America movie regardless of whether they lived here or not. I'm pretty sure the Captain America scenes were cut because it would throw off the balance of the movie. Joss Whedon didn't want it to be Captain America and The Avengers.

But he also said he wrote the script from the "perspective" of Captain America...

Yup, he did say that, then he said he realised it was a mistake to slant the film that way and went for a more blanced edit.
It's likely some of those scenes exist and are good (Cap getting misty eyed with his octogenarian girlfrien in a rest-home, anyone?), maybe the studio wants to make sure they wring every last cent out while it's all goin' off. Make hay while the sun shines and all that.

So all the new Marvel movie news is really cool, but does anyone else sort of want to see another Hulk movie, albeit this time featuring Mark Ruffalo and the improved Hulk effects as seen in The Avengers?

I wonder what their plans for him are currently.

I can't see why they wouldn't go for another movie, specially since the character was better received than it's previous incarnations.

As the resident Hulk expert, who do you think the villain should be if they do another film?

The Leader or someone else?

But I wonder if the character works better when he has other characters to bounce off of? Part of the joy of seeing him brought to life in the Avengers is seeing him interact with the other characters. Plus, from what people have said about the past movies, this movie sounded like it was the first time they realized people wanted to see Banner hulk out, and not be some tortured Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. By giving him his own movie, would you not have to go back to having him trying to not hulk out? That seems like what his story boils down to.

For a Marvel Studios film ? The Red King, yes, they should adapt "Planet Hulk" for a Marvel Studios movie.

For the film I would want ? Thunderbolt Ross.

That's oddly brilliant, but there's no way they'd do that.

You don't think they could still have Thunderbolt Ross in the film as a great villain while adding a new villain as well?

They almost pulled it off in the last film, if only they'd included some of his deleted scenes.

Only if they recast him and his daughter.

It'd be a very ambitious endeavor but I don't think it would be that impossible.

In any case, The Leader doesn't work, they might introduce him, but for a movie, a Post-Avengers Hulk movie, the villain has to be someone that can either:

a) Go toe-to-toe with The Hulk.

b) Have a shitload of minions or henchmen that can go toe-to-toe with The Hulk.

Nope.

I don't think people realize just what kind of brilliance General Thunderbolt Ross is as a villain, it's clear no one in both creators and readers camp, since everyone is perfectly okay with Red Hulk.

I hope you're not talking about William Hurt and Liv Tyler.

I think he is saying they need to be replaced.

That one deleted scene William Hurt had a monologue in was fantastic.

:| Whenever I talk about The Incredible Hulk, it's always about the stuff that was deleted.
