There's some throwaway line about how Odin had to have spent a huge amount of dark energy getting Thor back to Earth. Nothing detailed, nothing concrete.

It does feel like a bit of a cop-out, though to be fair, there is precedent for that exact thing in the comics.

I always hoped that some Tesseract related case would be used, and some S.H.I.E.L.D goodies would be in, but this, holy fucking overkill

Shame that the price is so steep, even if the European version is bound to be cheaper because of currency rates. Won´t be able to buy this baby this year, on account of wanting to put my gaming backlog with just a year´s delay, but this baby is gonna be my target in 2013.Here´s hoping that I´m not too late to the party...

Steep? not really :-\ it was $153, now it's under $140, so less than £100 for 6 movies, 3 of which are in 3D and with a collectors edition case?
in the UK, the 6 disc set which is just the 6 movies on bare-bones discs and no 3D is £40, I'm happy to say the 3D disc alone is worth £5 per movie, and then the actual packaging is easily worth £40 alone. oh and the list price is $219, so you're running the risk of it going back to that price after release if it sells well.
I don't regret ordering it at all.

It´s steep considering what I was expecting to spend.I thought that this would level out at 100 euros/dollars. And considering that Amazon Uk still hasn´t listed a price ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marvel-Cinemati ... 789&sr=8-1 )I´m worried that it´s gonna be a "first come, first served" with the US getting priority.

Shit man, this is like the perfect buy for me.Just need to wait it out a bit and see how the numbers play out, both price wise and availability....

That's why I'm importing it from Amazon.com. basic international shipping is only $7 or something.

Thing is, if I did so and they stoped this at customs here in my country, I could end up paying the value of the article itself as custom taxes. Fuck no...

ah yes, that would suck, why are customs duties so high?

I've checked a few other European versions of Amazon and none list it, I think your options are risk it or go without,

Yeah, when it comes to non-European Union stuff, they ocasionally screen the contents and based on the price, they double tax us. This bet on not getting screened is close to a 300 euro bet.No thank you. Better luck getting the 40 pound 6 disc collection from Amazon UK. Not the same thing, but I still get the movies and Marvel sees money from me. That being said, I´m gonna sign-up for a product warning on the Uk page of the Phase One case.

the £40 collection doesn't really interest me, for a start the only MCU movie I don't already have on Blu Ray is the first Iron Man, and since I have a 3D TV, and the £40 set doesn't include 3D discs, I might as well just buy Avengers on its own,
I think at the very most I might have to pay 20% VAT I think, since it's worth under £135.

edit: i just found this
http://www.dutycalculator.com/help_cent ... -Portugal/
Quote:
Minimum thresholds

When importing goods into Portugal, duty is not charged, if the total value of the goods (not including shipping charges or insurance) does not exceed €150. Neither duty nor VAT is payable if the total value of the goods (not including shipping charges or insurance) does not exceed €22.

it is only worth €114
so you'll only have to pay VAT of 23%... apparently

So, using the windows calculator,115(rounding up) euros base price+28,75 of my country´s equivalent of VAT gives a total of 145 euros without shipping. My guess is that shipping for Southern Europe is probably as expensive as shipping to England, so 152 euros. So, steeper :D

Like I said, no way I can get this on 2012, but if there´s still one these babies either on Amazon Uk or Amazon US for this price throughout the second trimester of 2013, I´m buying it...

Avatar, when you get your hands on it, share the experience. I want to know size, goodies, and how that tesseract thing works. Imagine that you are Coulson checking out Mjolnir. Just don´t get killed lol

I know, I snagged a screen shot of Thanos smiling and I just look at it every now and then... it's so amazing.

I figured this would be the best place to put it

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=40306

This article is kind of interesting, because it would be awesome to get Silver Surfer done right, as well as Galactus not in cloud form...

Joss is in!

Directing Avengers 2 (or whatever it's called), and developing that Marvel TV series.

It's not scientific, but the favorite on this poll for the TV show is the runaways... which could make a very good TV show, and Whedon does have history with the characters.

Unlikely, I know, but after seeing that A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer short, I would love The Agent Coulson Show.

it would have to be set 100% pre-avengers though. :(

Yup. I reckon any show they make will likely only allude to the Avengers anyways... can't afford to have Downey jnr. or Ms. Johanssen guesting on a TV budget!
