I'd be okay with that because he's obviously passionate about it

has he ever even directed before?

every director starts with a project. Tarantino hadn't directed traffic before Reservoir Dogs... it worked out alright for him

So Mark Bomback's been hired to re-write the script. Every blockbuster gets rewrites, but when it's reported on it's blown way out of proportion.

However, from what we've heard about the quality of Christopher McQuarrie's script, and what we can derive from Bomback's somewhat lacklustre CV (Unstoppable, Die Hard 4.0, Race to Witch Mountain), I think what's happening here is the latter has been put in charge of integrating more action set-pieces into the story. I really hope that doesn't come at the cost of cutting anything good and nuanced.

I thought Hugh Jackman's always said it's based on THE run?

Well, same thing really. His power as producer has meant he's handpicked his buddies as directors. My impression is that the scripted story is heavily influenced by the run:

Can't see why not, but I've gotten the vibe that fans feel.............ambivalent about his character.

Iron Patriot armor in Iron Man 3? Daken in Wolverine 2?

Dark Avengers set up.

Aw yeah.

Well, it's refreshing to see asian faces in asian roles! No air-bending here.
