Tired of talking about TV shows in 'General Talk'.
And since Castle is coming back later today...

Anyway, I think I've seen every episode of Star Trek TNG. Always fun.
Saw an OK episode of that today.
7/10

Going through the X-Files chronologically with my dad.
Saw an episode today where Bruce Campbell guest starred as a demon.
8/10

Also, I keep hearing about the Highlander series and the Crow series.

I saw both of their pilots today.

Was more into the Highlander one because of Lambert and it had alot of charisma.
I can see where a setup like this perfectly translates to a episodic nature.
Very action packed, very well acted, and retains some of the charm from the first movie.
Looking forward to more.
7.9/10

But the Crow's pilot was... good for its own purpose but...
they literally retold the entire movie's plot in 45 minutes.
An awkward 45 minutes that wasn't dark enough, too colorful, and lacked gravitas and atmosphere.
However, it introduces a few very cool little concepts that I believe are clever and best suited for the ever-evolving nature of a TV show. Also the action was solid and very hollywood (thats a good thing for a TV show) and Mark Dacascos shows LOTS of potential in the role. Coming off the heels of a career making performance from the late Brandon Lee couldn't have been easy, but when Dacascos nails it, he NAILS it; when his performance in a specific scene leaves something to be desired, its clearly a problem with the writing.

overall the show has potential, but rehashing the entire first movie was a fundamentally flawed move because you can't remake or reinterpret every unforgettable moment. You don't have the time, resources OR the budget!
Not to mention that they got it perfect the first time!

It walks a fine line between acceptable homage and pointless retread, but it IS setting up for a longer run than a movie gets, so I can buy that. I'm very intrigued, but only marginally impressed.
I'm onboard to give it a shot though.
6.9/10

Follow "Bored to death". Weird show. Makes me smile. 2nd series airing weekly.

Finally watched the last series of "The Wire". E-p-i-c! Watched it with my 14 year old boy. He and I are following it up with "Band of Brothers". Always good for a another look. "Treme" is being shown here, soon, so I'll give that a chance.

After watching the Simpsons Movie we have all kind of become hooked here. We have several of those seasons on DVD and they are often on. That show is bursting with ideas! When it's good, it's quite profound satire.

Miss "Life on Mars". That was a cracking show. Nice to see John Simm in the recent short series "Exile". Short, dark and depressing piece. Absorbing.

I used to be a real die hard SG-1 fan, shame the franchise kind of wrote itself into a corner at every turn.

for the first time ever, i had an episode of How I Met Your Mother (downloaded) with loads of adverts for some place called suprbay, and adverts for "other shows you may enjoy" inclusing Chuck and Community, which myself and fiancee have decided we want to watch now!, who ever said advertising doesn't work!

Last show I watched was Breaking Bad. Normally at this time I'd be watching Mad Men, but since that won't be on until next year, Breaking Bad was its replacement. As for returning shows, there's How I Met Your Mother (tonight) and The Office. Then Walking Dead in October.

Argh, don't even remind me of that...

On the plus side, it won another Emmy. ;)

Castle Season Premiere
8.9/10

thar be spoilers ahead

BECKETT LIVES! WOO!

half of my excitement about this episode comes from such a long wait.
Otherwise, its a pretty standard, yet interesting Castle episode.
Lots of new faces are introduced. A new captain, a new mystery contact, and Beckett has a new shrink played by Michael Dorn.
Most recognizable for playing Worf in ST:TNG.
Alot of great setups for a very promising season.
worth the wait.

Watched How I Met Your Mother, last night. They aired two episodes back to back. I think I laughed once. I feel like this is a show a bit like Friends, in that I like the characters but I don't actually find the show to be all that funny.

i like all the characters except Ted, who the show is supposed to be about, he's like HIMYM's Ross, and I at least liked Ross in Friends, or like JD in Scrubs, who i hated, but at least JD was funny, Ted is neither likable or funny.

to be honest i was on the floor laughing in an episode I saw last night (they are all racing to see Woody Allan at some restaurant) and Ted wasn't trying to date anybody, he was annoying but got what he deserved,
