Looks cool, it would have to be a really bad movie for the Tower Of Babel angle not to work.

But Bruce Timm's approach to DC's animated movies is running out of steam, apparently after this comes The Dark Knight Returns, and I'd much rather have a live-action version of that story instead of a direct-to-video, "just good" animated movie.

Oh...no! I was hoping they would leave TDKR alone. That's gonna be like Hanna Barbera doing an animated Watchmen.

Groooaaannnn.....

Dude, the DC animated features have all been pretty good, especially the Batman ones.

What's the chance they can get Conroy and Hammill?

I'd rather that they didn't.

I have enjoyed some of 'em. But Year One fell way short of the source material. And TDKR isn't your average comic. It's a watershed and a game changing landmark piece of pop culture. Their budget and style most likely won't do it justice. (heh...'justice'... hehe).

I felt that Year One was pretty much shot-for-shot.
I don't think they even changed or omitted any dialogue at all.

Yeah... but it's animated on 12's (or less). And they don't have the time or budget to spend on making it art, it's always got a straight-to-dvd feel about it. I'm not looking to having the first-equal (with Watchmen) greatest comic-book influence of my life executed that way.

FUCK YES!
I had no idea they were making this, and I'm a huge fan of Joe Kelly's Action Comics run.
This should be awesome.

I'd never heard of the run, but you're a pretty good judge of when a comic is awesome, I shall now begin to be excited :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Univers ... _The_Elite

George Newburn will be reprising his role of Superman from the Justice League series'

and that Goth girl from NCIS will be Lois.

and Joe Kelly is actually writing the screenplay.

The Elite are from a story in Kelly's run called "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice And The American Way?"
It's constantly on lists of the greatest Superman stories.
The Elite are like analogues of The Authority and various other Warren Ellis type "gritty" superheroes
