Who names a character Vandal Savage? They might as well have gone with Violence McPunchy Jr.

he was created by Alfred Bester in 1944, who later went on to become the acclaimed author of The Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination. :D

I haven't seen Doom, but that's a shame, it sounds like kind of a disservice to an immortal genius who just happens to have been born as a caveman.

So, this just hit the interwebs: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/68709

The new Batmobile in all its glory, ladies and gents. I like it on the whole, but I think I would've preferred something more streamlined. I also miss the fins. Still, if the goal was to create a halfway point between the Tumbler and a more traditional Batmobile? Not bad.

It's an interesting design. I like it, but I'd like to see a reason behind it. It almost seems Krypton-influenced. Wouldn't it be cool if after the Zod invasion people started considering borrowing their designs for cars and the like? I am not sure if that's what's going on here, but it'd be a very Watchmen-esque detail.

That had never even occurred to me. And now I hope to God that someone in this production had thought of it first.

I don't like it honestly. It looks like this could show up in any generic Sci-Fi movie.

Or tear gas. I don't think anyone involved is stupid enough to have Batman shoot and kill people.

I actually like this addition assuming that they're not actual guns. Batman would love for criminals to think he's going to fucking murder them.

Every iteration of the Batmobile, from '89 onward at least, has had some form of artillery. Even the Batpod and the Batcopter of the Nolan films were heavily armed. It doesn't mean that this particular car will be used to kill people, just that it can cause a lot of collateral damage if need be.

Though if it fired rubber bullets or tear gas? That'd be pretty clever.

I get that this has a TDKreturns vibe, but I still don't like it.
It's too militaristic, too video-gameish
The gothic style is GONE. This barely looks like a batmobile. It could easily be a reject from that Total Recall remake they did.

that would be dc/wb's fault.

I don't care whose fault it is, you know?

This trend is shitty.

What happened to the stylized Batmobiles?

Image Image

The Tumbler was a tank. It shouldn't have been this big trendsetting thing. And yes, I have read TDKreturns, and this looks nothing like the street-wrecking (literal) tank that Bruce drives around to stop the mutant leader. This looks like another shitty tumbler knock-off.

I think I'm with NIteOwl, on this one. I think the design element gets hurt once you try to make things practical.

Thank you. And then where does it stop you know? Is it practical for the cowl to have those ears?
For him to actually call it a Batmobile? For him to be called the Batman? If we're gonna roll with functionality, you pull that thread and unravel everything about Batman.
It's all about style. The Batmobile needs personality, and... looking like a gothic moon rover just isn't it.
