What can I say, I love me a good Tarantino film! Love everything I've seen from him, the only one I haven't seen is Jackie Brown. So yeah, basically, lets talk Tarantino! My post is gonna be a bit over the place so bare with me lol.

I'm one of the very few people I know who actually likes Kill Bill, and I can't understand why. That movie is so fun and stylish that anyone who likes a kung fu movie or is similar with old school kung fu movies is bound to like it. My friend really hates this movie, which I find odd considering he loves movies with fight scenes and martial arts...well...he's kind of one those people who's impressed with simplistic stuff like that so I thought he would've eaten Kill Bill up for sure. Oh well...

Oh, and I just watched Death Proof. Pretty cool movie, definitely not Quentin's best but worthy of at least one viewing by any Tarantino fan. I thought it was too long, too much talking scenes (this may make me sound like I hate movies with talking, but its quite the opposite. Whereas in Pulp Fiction, it was really cool and showed the audience that Hitmen are real people, it wasn't needed as much and should have had more car stunts for a homage movie of old Car movies.)

So yep, kind of let my mind wander on the keyboard there haha. Anyone else a fan?

what? people not liking Kill Bill? everyone i know who has seen it has loved it!

although my QT collection is small, it contains Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Death Proof (even though I have both Grindhouse films anyway). i am planning to buy KB 1&2 eventually (why not, i have the soundtrack for Vol. 1). and, i think his best acting role would have to be Jimmie Gimmick.

need to see Jackie Brown again, it's been a while.

Save your cash a little longer. I agree, there's no reason not to like the first one. Second one was flawed, but edited together as intended it should be outstanding. And it's been a long time coming, but Tarantino has announced they're planning to release it in May, with a new animation sequence...!

I like/love all of his movies aside from Death Proof which I loathe with a fiery passion.

Reservoir Dogs is one of my all time favorite movies, I like it a bit more than Pulp Fiction to be honest

After viewing Pulp Fiction first and then Reservoir Dogs, I also thought Reservoir Dogs was better. Then I watched Pulp again and can't really choose, so I basically just find them equally as good. I'm also really hoping that Quentin goes back to movies like Pulp and Dogs, I want another Tarantino crime movie :D

Inglourious Basterds is sounding really awesome though. Can't wait for the first trailer for it to come out soon.

Also, great news on Kill Bill! I'll be keeping an eye on that for sure. Anyone else heard of a possible prequel to Kill Bill all in anime and based around Bill himself? I think that'd be quite cool, seeing as we never really learnt much about him, other than he's a charming yet dangerous, murdering asshole lol.

He's one of my favorite filmmakers. His fims are so much fun to watch and are brimming with life. The only one of his I don't like is Death Proof, I understand what he was going for there, but the movie was majorly boring. If I didn't like talky movies, I wouldn't be a Tarantino fan, but I think he (maybe intentionally) forgot that the dialogue is interesting because of the characters and I don't think the characters in the first half of Death Proof were interesting at all.

But other than that, I think he's great, I just wish he'd make more stuff that wasn't just a homage to something else, I don't think we'll get a different deal with Inglorious Basterds but I'm more than looking forward to it.

I'm a fan of Tarantino, but what I can't stand is how some people think he's this great, original artist. While he makes his love for exploitation cinema quite obvious, when it comes to what he's actually borrowed and/or stolen from the films he loves, he's surprisingly tight lipped.

Anyway, here are my favorite Tarantino films:

1. Pulp Fiction (the most original thing he's done)
2. Jackie Brown
3. Reservoir Dogs
4. Kill Bill (can't rank them separately)

Death Proof is awful, aside from Kurt Russell's performance and the car chase at the end.

Here's some recommended viewing for fans of Kill Bill:

1. The Female Prisoner/Convict Scorpion series of films
- Female Convict #701: Scorpion
- Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41
- Female Prisoner Scorpion: Beast Stable
- Female Convict Scorpion: Grudge Song

2. Lady Snowblood

3. Thriller: En Grym Film

4. Sex and Fury (has a sword fight in the snow that greatly outdoes Kill Bill's)

5. The Lone Wolf and Cub series of films
- Sword of Vengeance
- Baby Cart at the River Styx
- Baby Cart to Hades
- Baby Cart in Peril
- Baby Cart in the Land of Demons
- White Heaven in Hell (150 on-screen kills, the most in history)

6. The Samurai Trilogy
- Musashi Miyamoto
- Duel at Ichijoji Temple
- Duel at Ganryu Island (the final duel in the sunset was essentially reproduced for Kill Bill's final duel)

The only thing of his I've seen is Pulp Fiction. One of my favorite movies ever. The dialouge is so amazing. I'm not sure why I haven't seen his other movies, but ine day I will.

The sublime:
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown

The good:
Reservoir Dogs

The so-so:
Kill Bill

The diabolically bad:
Death Proof. An absolute turkey of a movie. Looked like shit, smelled like shit.

Problem is, his stuff seems to be sliding all to hell. :|

That last car chase was one of the greatest action sequences I have ever seen. I'm not going to try defending the rest of it, though.

Regrettably, I am woefully undereducated regarding the works of Tarantino. I'll be rectifying that in due course.

I really love True Romance, which he wrote but did not direct.
