From my posts on this board, you may have learned that my three favourite things are Clint Eastwood, Kate Bush and X-men.
What with the new movie in production, the second coming event that's going on at the moment, and the new ongoing series for both x-men, x-men forever and wolverine starting in a few months, and also the fact that I thought my 1000th post should be one about something I care about, I thought it's about time we had a thread to talk about our favourite characters, storylines and whatnot.
I'll start by saying that my top five x-men characters, in no order, are Magneto, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine (especially when the latter two are shown as a duo), Rogue and Mystique, who is especially awesome in her solo series by Brian K Vaughn, the Runaways guy.

Anyways, what's up with the X-Men right now ? specially with the mutants, being that they're almost extinct and all.

My knowledge of the characetrs comes mainly from X-Men Evolutions and Ultimate X-Men. i've always liked the characters, but for some reason I found the 616 comics unbearable i tried everyone from Lee to Claremont and could not get into the X-Me, until I found Millar's run on ultimate X-Men and then I started caring about the characters. But I still can't do the mainstream stuff.

Oh, I also like Whedon's Astonishing.

Now a discussionary topic: Do you guys like colossus better as Gay Ultimate or Straight mainstream. I personally like him as a gay character so much more, for some reason I feel like it works so much more

I feel you man, although this isn't X-Men related, I love Hulk/Bruce Banner, but Planet Hulk is quite shitty :|

I haven't actually read any Ultimate X-men unless you count the part they had in some Ultimate Spider-man comics, but I like the idea of Gay Colossus more just because I think it makes him a more interesting and unique character.

And my favorite character would have to be Nightcrawler. Jumping around here, but I really enjoyed reading this when I was younger.

And I liked X-men: Evolution quite a bit. AAAnd what else? Oh yeah, Smutty, what do you think about Magneto going crazy and killing everybody in Ultimatum?

I actually didn't even know that that happened, because I usually don't touch anything from the ultimates line unless if it's written by Mark Millar.

And on the gay colossus thing, I would have to agree that it does add more to his character.

My god, you are lucky. Ultimatum was a piece of shit. But no regular shit. That was some Premium shit.

I'm looking at the wiki article for it now.
Looks like Loeb has gone the way Frank Miller.

Well, I HAVE to be fair, I just read "Exile" and I am now through "Anarchy", I have to admit it's getting better, but I thought "Exile" seemed like nothing more than an excuse to dress up Hulk in gladiator armor and have him kill EVERYTHING you can think off !

Now on X-Men matters ! ................................... I'm blank

I thought World War Hulk was more of an excuse to have him go crazy. Now that one I didn't like.

But yeah, X-men. I always thought Onslaught was cool. Used to have an action figure of him. ...Just throwin' that out there.

Old Man Logan is awesome ! Smutty must've broken in tears when he found out the truth about Logan

I have to read World War Hulk again, but I always appreciate when Marvel recognizes Hulk's potential as both a villain and a hero, at least I think they got that right.

Wasn't Hulk the one who killed Onslaught  ?

lol I don't even know. I haven't actually read the Onslaught Saga. I mainly knew about him from Marvel Vs. Capcom.

I'm not kidding, when I saw that panel with the dead x-men I actually did shed tears.

That scene was truly horrifying, one understands that when reading a "non-616" or "non-mainstream" comic, one should expect a lot of crazy shit to happen, but Mark Millar just went a little too far  ! Great comic anyways !
