I don't know the previews sure are pretty, but it seems like a weird amalgam of Christmas Carol and Batman... and that doesn't sound like a good thing

Sounds awesome to me, Christmas Carol is my favourite work by Dickens and I love seeing reinterpretations of it.

Can anyone vouch for the author ? I'm not very interested.

It's written and drawn by the bloke that did the awesome art for Brian Azzarello's "Joker" gn.

I'm not saying that reinterpretations of CC are bad... just I don't know enough about THIS one to have a real opinion yet

That bloody horrible Jim Carrey uncanny valley animated abomination was the straw that broke A Christmas Carol's back for me.

How about Supes and Bats in A Tale Of Two Cities?

I thought it was fantastic, even though delays screwed it up, it was still a good ol' fashioned dini story, and that humpty dumpty issue was fucking gold.

I will agree, I really liked that issue, I just felt the rest of it seemed rushed

Well I suppose when it was actually coming out and they kept bringing in fill-in writers and artists and it felt like I was waiting a million years for Dini to finish the story he started setting up in the first issue, it didn't feel rushed to me at all.

Oh, fair enough, I just bought a trade of it the other day so it was pretty much just a one and done reading session

I just read it and yeah, it was pretty cool.

Also probably the bloodiest issue of Batman I've ever read.

Can this just be the all-purpose Batman comics thread or what?

I just read the new Batman annual and the twist on New 52 Mr. Freeze is pretty interesting.

Yeah, as soon as I read that my jaw hit the floor and I marveled at how perfect Snyder is at wrting Batman and batman related books.

Also, as the creator of this thread... I'm okay if it's just all purpose Batman discussion

Looks good, but this story shouldn't be limited to cartoon DVD-release.

I see what you're saying. Like with Year One, I'll probably just watch it once and never bother with it again where-as I may revisit the graphic novel multiple times. It's certainly not going to be like Under the Red Hood which many have said to be better than its comic counter-part and I do come back to. It's also not going to be as dynamic and interesting as a live-action adaptation like Watchmen. So in the end I guess it does feel a little pointless.

Under The Red Hood is just.........fucking.........ridiculously good.

Maybe it's because I can't draw direct paralels to a graphic novel I didn't read already, but the voice acting, the writing, the action, the emotional punches at several moments were just magnificient, I think it's even better than Mask Of The Phantasm.

Anyways...

It's going to be divided into two parts, that might mean something, maybe not.

Whatever the case, what we should be doing is harrasing the shit out of Snyder so that he can direct the live adaptation.
