Nine if you count Astonishing X-men.
I don't get X-factor or Generation Hope though because they're pieces of shit.

You kidding me? Cyclops's main team is composed entirely of ex-villains, Emma, Magik, Danger, Magneto and Collosojuggernaut, and also he has Domino, Dani Moonstar, Vampire Jubilee, Warpath and Nate Grey. What cool edgy people does Wolverine have other than Quentin Quire and AoA Nightcrawler?

EDIT:

And what's up with the "Colossus + Juggernaut" guy ?

I swear I made a post addressing this yesterday, but maybe curi thought I had double posted and deleted it, since that woulda meant there were two posts in a row.
Anyway, Collossus made a deal with Cyttorak during Fear Itself and he's the Juggernaut now.

So seeing as how psylocke is on both teams, I assume you're referring only to Fantomex and Deadpool

who are both "edgy and cool"

for the record I'm not really trying to argue here because I know I don't know what I'm talking about, just first impression

Yeah I think Wolverine's team with four edgy and cool people isn't really anything compared to Cyclops's team where only about four people are not ex-villains, badasses or killers.

I think the balance is okay, all the badass you'll need from Wolverine's X-Men comes from Wolverine alone.

But all the badass you'll need from Cyclops' X-Men will come from the teammates.

SO !!!

I haven't read Schism, but recently I read this article:

http://www.comicvine.com/news/the-x-men ... ne/143684/

For those who don't want to spoil themselves, it raises the issue of wether the X-Men should use young mutants, "kids", as soldiers, Cyclops is in favor of this, Wolverine is against it, and that's where the whole deal behind this event starts.

My opinion ?

I'm with Wolverine on this issue.

How many teenagers have tagged along with Wolverine on his various dangerous missions?

I was precisely thinking about Kitty and Jubilee, but I don't think he would downright force any teenager to become a soldier for the mutant cause.

Granted, I can't say the same thing about Scott, but is it really possible that the latter would just simply let them choose not to fight ?

Perhaps it's his experience and relationships with Pride and Lee that made him wary of having kids on his team.

Kind of like some of the dialogue in early X-23, he doesn't want her to be a soldier first and foremost

Wolverine sure has an excessive amount of surrogate children.

Well, X-23 is a weird case... because she's a clone of him.

Funny enough his actual child is the one he has the least involvement with
