I think as soon as the New 52 was announced this became a "matter of time" kind of deal...

1. I thought DC was supposed to be the company ripping off Marvel, not the other way around.
2. Didn't Marvel already try this with the Ultimates line?

This isn't revising continuity like the New 52, is it?

Not exactly... but a lot of series are being renumbered and they are bringing back past characters and radically altering others... so we'll wait and see.

1. That's debatable... they both rip each other off a lot.
2. The Ultimate line is more like Elseworlds, it's just an alternate telling, the Ultimate line never wiped out 616 continuity and was never intended to.

I know with Comic-Con coming rapidly we'll be getting A LOT more info on this subject so I really am going to reserve judgement until then.

That being said... Rocket Mutha Fucking Raccoon made the promo piece!

I always thought DC's Earth One is a bit of a rip off of Marvel's Ultimate universe.

A fourth title has been added to Marvel NOW!

"New Avengers" by Jonathan Hickman with art by Steve Epting, no news on the roster of the team... but those two have me sold.

I've gotta say, without the prospect of revised continuity (which I wouldn't want them to do anyway), this isn't a very interesting re-launch. It just seems normal.

They probably should though, it's broken as it is.

Just a while ago, I read a rumor (a long while ago) about how the current Punisher writer was going to change his origins to the first Gulf War.

Can you just imagine that ? Frank Castle not a Vietnam veteran ?

Maybe, but I'm a lot more attached to Marvel comic book continuity where-as I looked forward to the New 52 with enthusiasm because I wasn't all that familiar with DC comics continuity and am only just delving more into that universe.

The current writer as in Greg Rucka?

Hmmm... it's weird you say he'll do that because he only has a handfull of issues left in his run and so far his origin is still vietnam.

As I said, a rumor.

Nevertheless, like with Magneto, it's bound to happen at some point.

True, but with Frank Castle it can change, vets of Iraq have a lot in common with Vietnam vets.

The problem with Magneto, though, is you need to have him go through an ordeal because he's Jewish, so as to fuel his Anti-Human sentiment. Unless they copped out and just had his parents as Holocaust survivors...

They shouldn't ever change Magneto's origins, time be damned.
