Actually, I've saving money by getting it from my local library. That way, if I hate it I won't have used any money.

When I come on boards like this and see people trash I wonder if it is really bad, or if it's just bad in comparisson to DKR and YO, which are two of my favorite comics of all time, Topped by Watchmen of course

I'm still going to read it, because I liked Batman and Robin, so I have different tastes than most

you will probably love it then :P

i have seen batman and robin a few times - specifically for the ice skating scene, and most importantly freeze's gun sticking to a statue and of course him catching it again (it looks like someone throwing a dvd player at an autistic paraplegic)

Didn't know exactly which Batman thread to put this in, but Empire have published their top 10 Batman comics...

Not at all. I am very fussy when it comes to buying comics. If I did ever wander into a comic store with a bunch of cash I wouldn't be walking out with any Batman stories! There are far more interesting things to waste my money on. ;) The Batman stories I do have were all given to me by DC. Even some very nice hardbacks (my Arkham Asylum is a lovely HB, for example). I do have a cute Batman/Judge Dredd by Alan Grant, John Wagner and Simon Bisley.

I've read a few of the stories and liked them all, I like Batman a lot and can't wait to see Ledger's Joker. And since this forum is about DKR and YO...

Do any of you guys think (that since YO was roughly made into Batman Begins) that we'll ever see an adaptation mainly based on DKR, maybe to end Nolan's series?

No. Dark Knight Returns was an extreme extrapolation on the mythos, if I'm allowed to call it that. For Nolan to film something that unconventional would be the end of his big studio career, as it would require Warners to facilitate another relaunch.

Then again, after the success of both Batman Begins and the Hulk relaunch, maybe that's the next big thing in Hollywood?

I'd honestly like Nolan to adapt Dark Knight Returns after one to three more standard Batman movies, and then move on to another superhero. Maybe he could do Superman some good. Or Daredevil?

Here's an interesting thought: What if someone adapted Batman the other way around?

Suppose DC took the movies and spun those off into their own comics continuity. I wonder if anyone other than the Nolans could pick up that baton.

Man, a Daredevil relaunch...now we're talkin'. Imagine the Elektra saga adapted by Nolan. Hell, imagine any Daredevil story adapted by someone with a modicum of talent. Mark Steven Johnson, while certainly well-intentioned, was just completely out of his depth. Hey, maybe if Will Eisner's The Spirit Directed By Frank Miller is succesful, Miller will be allowed to adapt his own work into a Daredevil feature film.

My favourite has always Batman:The Long Halloween but from the two I would say TDKR.

Way to bring us back on topic ;)

But, I also like The Long Halloween, it's my number 4 Batman story.
