I just bought it yesterday in a set that came with a Joker and Batman figure. It is also one of my faveorite Batman comics.

But, I just read DK2 and... it's wasn't that bad

I know I'll get flamed, but it was okay, no where near DKR, but still enjoyable and intrigueing.

Everyone on here acted like it was an abomination to The Batman, but actually I liked it. I think it would have worked better if it were a Justice LEague tale, not a Batman story, and if Lex didn't look like Gorilla Grudd, but that's beside the point

I recently read an interview in Death Ray magazine with Alan Moore. He thought DK2 was terrible. He was very dismissive of Frank Millers work. He was very dismissive of current comic books and writers as a whole, actually.

until the original dkr, miller and moore were quite good mates (so i hear - going to dinner and stuff with dc collegues) but they were the comics flavour of the year in the mid- 80's... so they we're each fighting for the top spot. i heard moore say good things about miller's fabulous daredevil run, but then again the majority of miller's work since has mostly been of a similar style and tone.

let us not also forget that miller and gibbons have collaberated on numerous occasions with the martha washington series

Well, that may be. I think his issues with Miller is in regards to 300 and Sin City. With 300, he felt that it was homophobic and slightly racist (although he admits to only reading some of it). With Sin City, he felt it was juvenile and sexist. With DK2, he felt it was sloppy. I don't have the magazine, but he does really take some shots at Miller, as well as Art Spigelman, whose In the Shadow of No Towers he called pathetic, so much so as to make him reevaluate his opinion of him. He feels Spigelman's best work was probably in the 70's.

I think Moores main issue is that none of these guys are doing anything exciting now, and no one in comics is trying to re-invent or shake things up. Oddly, in a way, he almost sounds like Rorschach criticizing his former colleagues.

Damn straight *high fives 'ziller*.

And it's perfectly fine that she doesn't like Miller's art, the faces are a little off-putting for somebody that has never read comics, I know they seemed that way to me when I first read it.

I'm sure that if a year ago I came into this thread and said that the art in DKR was shit then Felicino would try to tear me a new one

My name is not "Felicino".

And well, I would tear you a new one given how you are an avid COMIC BOOK READER, something which my girlfriend is certainly not.

hahaha

I'd say this thread is insane, but that'd be redundant.

i don't really like the art in DKR either, but i'd say it#'s mostly because the colour palette is so bland (i love some vibrancy!) and those tiny tv screen panels pissed me off.

Same here. While the story was fucking awesome, the art... not so good.
