Collectible miniatures game soon to include 26 new Watchmen figurines.
http://www.watchmencomicmovie.com/021510-watchmen-movie-heroclix.php

I never heard of Heroclix until a few hours ago when someone on another forum I frequent mentioned they were introducing a Watchmen line later this year. So in case you're interested...
http://wizkidsgames.com/blog/2010/02/12/wizkidsneca-announces-watchmen-heroclix/

Quote:
February 12, 2010 (Hillside, NJ) – WizKids/NECA, the leader in collectible miniature gaming today announced the Watchmen HeroClix Collector’s Boxed Set and Dr. Manhattan Colossal Figure for the HeroClix game, through a license agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Comics. Watchmen HeroClix brings the characters of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Watchmen film to gamers’ tabletops summer 2010.

The Watchmen Collector’s Boxed Set includes 25 highly detailed, 3D miniatures including Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre. The Collector’s Boxed Set, which includes a complete set of Watchmen HeroClix figures, comes in deluxe, display-quality packaging. The Watchmen HeroClix Dr. Manhattan Colossal Figure (sold separately) is built to movie-accurate scale and stands over 14 inches tall. Watchmen HeroClix premieres this summer at San Diego Comic-Con, and will be available at comic and game shops nationwide and on Amazon.com.

Anyway, kinda late to the party. I enjoyed lurking here the past year. That is all

I think I need to buy these even though I don't play Heroclix.

DUDE! I did make the comedian and he turned out cool but actual official ones would be so much nicer

But um, 25 characters? who other than the Crimebusters and the Minute men would be in there?

Rorschach
Nite Owl II
Silk Spectre II
Dr. Manhattan
Ozymandias
The Comedian (I'm guessing there will be pre-gimp/post-gimp)

Hmm, would Captain Metropolis be part of the Minutemen or Crimebusters?

Captain Metropolis
Nite Owl
Silk Spectre
The Comedian
Hooded Justice
Silhouette
Mothman
Dollar Bill

That's fifteen, including variants of Comedian, if not then it's 14... But there are still 10/11 missing... guesses:

Big Figure
Moloch
Captain Axis
the space guy
the mobster guy
Archie?
Rorschach unmasked?
Nite Owl II snow variant?
K.T.s
... police?

That's another ten, but those are just guesses of course.

So how can a 38-year-old man purchase this item without his wife thinking he's insane? I mean I got away with the owl ship because it had DVDs in the base but these...they're toys!

Not toys... decorations.
Yeah I have a couple of these heroclix. I know nothing about the rules of the game though.
I have Daredevil, Hulk, Hawkman, Swamp Thing and the Riddler.

Agreed, just don't play with them and then they can become mini statuettes. Like a Christmas village one puts out at Christmas, but instead of Santa there is a Giant naked guy

Yeah, that works.

I have to admit, that's pretty cool. Too bad there's probably not a Bubastis figurine. Worse yet, I highly doubt that the makers have considered the production of a giant squid.

I like how the big Dr Manhattan is apparently "movie accurate scale". Y'know, cos Dr Manhattan can only be two sizes.

Anywho, I gotta say, the fact that they're selling all the ones we're interested in together makes it more attractive to me. If the packaging actually is "deluxe" they may be worth buying as little figurines.

I definitely can't wait for this role playing game to be released. Seems interesting. I think this would be a great collection for those (me included) who aren't fortunate enough to get the Watchmen role playing game or miniatures of the 80s.
