A fight with Veidt that you can't win? lol

Quick reminder: None of the events in the graphic novel will be playable in the game.

Yep. It takes place in 1972... 13 years before the main storyline in the book/film. The game follows Rorschach and Nite Owl II in their prime as a partnership taking down the NY street gangs.

I imagine by the end, there will be levels dedicated to all the 6 major heroes.

What I wonder though is how could they not make an uber-cheap Dr. Manhattan. He would have to be unstoppable.

Maybe they saved him for the God Mode [/gaming humor].

Wow, if you want to know what the game is about and what to expect, it's as simple as Google. It's been known for a long time what the game will cover. It's going to follow Rorschach and Nite Owl during their days as crime-fighters. Maybe reading the article that started this thread would be of help, too . . .

The thing is - gaming has proven that god-like powers can make for a compelling ending, even though it's less challenging. If you played HL2 the whole way through you'll know how a Dr Manhattan level could actually work!! Plus, it'd give extra meaning to the "puppet who can see the strings" thing...!

Except the game doesn't deal with the events of the book or the movie. All it is is a fleshing out of Nite Owl's and Rorschach's days together of puttin' a beatin' on criminals. Those days, to them at least, were pretty morally one-sided. To Nite Owl and Rorschach, it is indeed a matter of moral straightforwardness -- those guys are criminals, so I shall hit them with a 2x4.

I had a good laugh at the idea of Dan beating a bunch of punks with a peice of wood.

Maybe we can see that moment in time when Rorschach shot the man with the Grappeling Hook gun.

The developers have said that Nite Owl is the one with the Grapple Hook Gun in the game (as he apparently hasn't given it to Rorschach yet).

Actually, that idea appears to be Len Wein's.

And that graphics are okay. Certainly not at the cutting edge of today's next-gen games, but perusing them closely in the EGM article they're not that bad, especially considering it's a downloadable game. Of course, the gameplay and the story are what matter most anyway.

Unless you want to spend two days downloading it onto your Xbox or PC, the graphics are adequate.

Oh I forgot to mention the graphics are from 1985 as well...

Not impressed. Will definitely turn a blind eye to the title.

I don't know...

"hot coffee" mini game with Sally Jupiter and Eddie Blake where you try to keep the "violence and sex" meters balanced out?

Heh, I'm a sick bastard for making that joke.

I would like to see a watchmen mod when GTA IV comes out on PC.

Don't worry about that, I can pretty much guarantee you that this will happen. Also, I can pretty much guarantee you that it will look like shit and won't fit well with the rest of the game (e.g. Rorschach shouting Niko's lines and whatnot) as mods tend to do.

Of course I mean a well-done one.

I would love to see levels based off of Moloch, Big Figure and maybe one about Captain Carnage. :D

If the game is actually well done it might be really good I guess...

I believe Big Figure was put away in the '60s too. Didn't he say he'd be in prison for 25 years or something...?
