I second that notion.

yeah i agree too. or you could just be patient and wait for the dvd, but who want's to be patient, waiting for dvd/br vs downloading illegally, THEN waiting for the dvd/br isn't actually affecting WB's income. unless you decide it's not worth buying, in which case wb should have made a better product in the first place.

lol, the word watchmen on the left of the cover is the wrong way up if they were trying to copy the GN. unless they weren't in which case why bother trying to emulate the GN cover style at all?

It's that way to conform with standard DVD/Blu-ray titling (for retailing and display purposes).

i don't mean on the spine. i mean to the left hand side of the front. unless that rule covers that too. i don't see why it should though

Even though I downloaded all of them so far, I'm still going to buy the Blu-Ray when it comes out. It'll be good times indeed.

I don't like it. I think non-fans will see this and think of it as a substitute for reading the GN. And I think those people are probably more likley to throw a DVD into the shopping cart than download it from iTunes.

I was actually okay with the Motion Comics at first. But they've been getting more and more annoying.

Other than the Titan Books (already mentioned) I'd point out that, unless things have changed, I believe Zack's idea was to have "Under The Hood" as a bonus feature on the TOTBF disc. If so, then "Tales Of The Black Freighter/Under The Hood" DVD/Blu-ray will be one in the same.

Why does everyone worry so much about what others think about the book/movie?? Personally, I don't need validation or acceptance from others to know that WATCHMEN is genius. I encourage friends to read the book. In fact, I purchased 12 copies of the TPB as Christmas presents. Beyond that, though... it's up to them.

I love the book regardless of any other outside factors. And as long as I like the movie (and all its ancillary tie-ins) I couldn't care less what any other soul thinks of that, either.

i enjoy the book to its full potential also. but i just dont buy in to ALL the marketing that WB is doing. i downloaded the first chapter and thought it was ok. no where near worth 25 or 30 dollars though. i will buy the black freighter dvd and all but motion comics hasnt won me yet.

My friend is too lazy (or stupid or whatever) to read the GN, so I told him to watch the motion comics and he did. Looking back now, I regret that. Reading the book is the ultimate Watchmen experience, and it always will be. Now I know that motion comics should be for the Watchmen fans who wan't to experience Watchmen in another way, not for the lazy people.

I think the motion comics are kind of cool. From what I saw on youtube. My only knock against them was the lack of a cast doing the voices. Of course THE cast doing the voices would have been amazing, but hardly affordable. But A cast would have helped this thing instead of one guy doing the voices.

As for buying it on DVD, I'd like to have it. But I'm going to hold off as I'm sure this will be bundled into some "Super Cool Complete WATCHMEN DVD Set" somewhere down the line. I can wait the 3 days to see the prison scene. With ebay and so many secondary outlets and online sales, I tend not to buy DVDs the day they come out. The prices always drop later and getting it second hand is always an option. So that's what I'm going to do with this.

But I do want a copy.

TPB? :?:

I agree that I'm going to get the "Super-Awesome Edition of Watchmen" that has everything on it.

Ah, I see.

"The Prack Breighter?"

"The Pirate Benny?"

When I'm left to my own devices... :?

I can assure you that the shrill and incessant complaining about them is far worse.

This made my day. I've been really enjoying the motion comics. So glad they're gonna be on Blu-Ray.

I'd only buy it if they cast the actors from the film to redo the voices. Hearing silk spectre as an old dude is really creepy.
