Random, but are you an apprentice? If so, what shop do you work at and how much experience do you have?

I'm planning on getting the Rorschach blot (the main one on the cover of ch. VI and the first one Dr. Long shows to Rorschach) on my wrist! Somebody a while back in this thread got it on one of their forearms I think...

I really really like the look of the Rorschach signature for its simplicity, but I decided on the blot instead since I'm getting it less as a tribute to Rorschach the man (much as I love him) as a reminder of the philosophies discussed toward the end of chapter VI and the ideas behind the symbol. (Not to look at things from a black/white absolute perspective btw.) The change in Dr. Malcolm Long following his sessions with Rorshach was always one of the most powerful parts of the book to me. Plus it looks damn cool as well, so I've no aesthetic problems whatsoever. And I'm getting it on the wrist because it's for me.

Nice. You going for the original colours too? Your tattooist has done a nice Gibbon-esque job on the line work.

Someone, quick, colour it in on photoshop before the tattooist does!

Im yet to post my picture of my rorschach logo on my wrist but people have posted similar so there really isnt a point. Mine isnt as impressive compared to others either.

But im thinking of getting, directly aabove it dr. manhattans hydrogen symbol. I'll certainly post a picture when i do get it. Then im thinking of getting a band around my forearm saying 'Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici'.

Whatever floats your boat, right?
Also, this.

Which for some reason comes up if you go to google images and type in "tattoo cat man". Although, it is kinda cool. Might end up being regrettable once he's sixty or so, but for now, kinda cool. Wouldn't want it myself though. Anyway I'm going to bow out before I derail this topic too badly.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that the American rate was about $100 per hour. It really depends. There's shops that charge per hour, and shops that charge per complexity of the tattoo, size, and how many colors will be featured in it. I know my shop/artist has a base rate of 60$ and charges by complexity, size, and colors.

I'll be getting myself a Rorschach tattoo in a week or two. I wanted to get the movie version of rorschach, but then I realized that without the book, there would be no movie, so I'm changing it a bit.

I know that the double R's with the name Rorschach below it is pretty much invented for the movie(or at least that's what I've been told), but i'll be having that in the middle of my back, directly above that, I'll have This (just the actual Rorschach, not the background and such.)

:) Definitely will be posting pics when it's done.

THe double R's is from the graphic novel. So you dont 'know' that. Unless you're implying the name rorschach below is makes it a completely different design.

But then, at no point in the movie do i see the name rorschach under his calling sign/signature...

So what on earth are you talking about?

I know that the double R's are from the graphic novel, I've read it. But I don't recall ever seeing his name below it, like this:
Image

The only thing I've seen this specific design on is t-shirts and other things that were made specifically for merchandising the movie, including one that I own, though it's white on a black background. This design isn't from the graphic novel, and it's not seen IN the movie, but I've not seen it on anything that wasn't movie related. As far as I know, it was created for movie merchandise. I'll have Rorschach in the image I linked, then below it, that design. That's what "on earth" i'm talking about.
