Ahoy, there...
I shall soon be sending Dave Gibbons a package, and drfateboy had a great idea:

All those who contributed in any way* to the WCM Cut of the film write something, draw something, do anything that I can copy down or print and I'll send it along with it. Say something heartfelt, or be creative!

*Even if you just voted on the polls

I wanna send this thing off as soon as possible, so I'm gonna need to ask that you get your entry posted on this thread within 24 hours of this post. Also, try to keep it concise - a sentence or two, or if you're sending an image, keep it small.

Alright, fire away!

Mr. Gibbons:
Thank you and Mr. Moore for changing my life four years ago when I decided to flip through Watchmen to decide whether or not I would buy it or not. Needless to say, I did and dozens of repeat readings later, I count the graphic novel as a massive influence on me as a filmmaker and writer, as an artist in general. Once again, thank you.

I don't know if I count....but if you could add this little bit in I'd be much appreciated.

Dave/Mr. Gibbons/Hero of Comics/Whatever title you prefer:

I have to say, that as a fan of Watchmen before I had even heard that the film was going into production, I definitely think that having you on board helped make a much better film, and compared to earlier scripts, this one was by far the closest anyone could come to a "faithful" adaptation of a great comic. So here's us fans saying thanks.

Sincerely,

Most of the internet (or watchmencomicmovie.com at least!)

Dear Mr. Gibbons

Thankyou immensely for contributing so much to the world of comics, I am a firm believe that your distinctive art is a major part of what has made Watchmen age so gracefully, and still look great even 25 years on.
Also I have for a long time been a fan of Beneath a Steel Sky, and the world you designed for it.

Many Thanks

Richard Barclay

Dave,

I had a chance of seeing you at an autograph singing/ Q&A a few years back, but ended up going to my nephews birthday party instead. No hard feelings?

On behalf of everyone on this forum, Of course you do.

Btw, AYB, that part doesn't go into Mr. Gibbons' note.

Mr. Gibbons,

Thank you for all your work all those years ago, you've inspired me to become a better artist by what you created visually in the Watchmen series. It still inspires and astounds me to this day. I only hope that one day that I may be able to reach the creativity that possess.

Your Watchmen friend,
Brennan McCullar

Hey folks,
Way too much snow to even consider going into town and getting this thing posted, so if you haven't left a message yet there's still time to do so!

Second. I was trying to look at the messages and stuff, but they're really hard to see.

Um, well, they're a little blurry (iPhones suck), and obviously I can't take any more pics, but here you go.

Apologies for the Rorschachian scrawl - I was in progressively more and more of a rush when I wrote them down as I realised the post office was closing soon after. They're more legible without blur-o-vision.

Kinda ironic that it's your two that are camera-blurred the most.
