I think this could be a very real scenario. Then after Laurie gets home Sally and her get in a huge fight, and she kind of resigns into wearing the costume we're used to.

Sense. You're making it.

Ass. You're kissing it.

Nice variations, even though they look a little too "art-deco".

How do they look art-deco?

Anyway, I get the GL and Watchmen ones, obviously, but I'm kind of trying to puzzle out what the others are supposed to represent.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term, but they don't really look as flashy as other comic book logos.

They should have made the new logos before the reboot.

I'm with that

My guess is the first one is Superman, since it's steel.
The second one could be Batman, perhaps that's a grappling hook?
I think the third one is the Flash, only because of the colors really, otherwise I have no idea.
Fourth and Fifth are obviously Watchmen and Green Lantern.
The sixth, I have no idea. This one could also be Batman.

I was just thinking, Bill Willingham and Ed Brubaker's Sandman spin-offs didn't suck, they were actually pretty good, consider Gaiman had nothing to do with them.

Then again DC Comics didn't give Gaiman the finger after the work was done.

thats not the point.
who screwed who over, and who' has the right to be angry isnt the point.
The point smutty was making was these prequels may not suck depite moore's non-involvement.
He gave an example to illustrate this point, the sandman spin off's.
That is all.

What I said does not contradict what Smutty said, read again.

No but it was a stupid pointless reply that doesnt even adress the point he was making.

Apples and oranges, Smutty.

Sandman is very much an open-ended story. It literally spans all of space and all of time, in addition to an endless amount of pocket dimensions and supernatural lands. The scope of the Sandman universe is quite literally infinite. As such, it would be perfectly easy for some other writer to come up with new characters or new locations, and even the established cast is enormous. Yes, there's a canon to be heeded and a timeline that has to stay intact, but the rules are admittedly rather loose, and the timeline has a shit-ton of holes for other writers to come in and fill as they see fit.

By contrast, the scope of Watchmen is very finite. We know exactly where it begins (the introduction of Hooded Justice in the late '30s) and we know exactly where it ends ("I leave it entirely in your hands," at the end of 1985). That's a fifty-year timeline that's been heavily documented through flashbacks, "Under the Hood" excerpts, and other assorted information in the source text. There are a few characters that could use more development (mostly the old villains), and the timeline does have a few holes, but the wiggle room afforded is absolutely tiny by comparison.
