The Ozy one was the only one that didn't suck - but, so what? There's nothing in there that we didn't know before.

But I also know you were very down on the concept beforehand, so how open of a mind did you really have?

I wasn't very down. I saw no reason to make them, but I was cautiously optimistic that they could be good.

Well, I'm in the middle of Rorschach #2. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, actually. So basically I'm still keeping up with Minutemen and that. I gave everything else but Dr. Manhattan a chance, but everything else kind of sucked.

Including Ozymandias, I might add.

so some of them suck and some are decent, and a few BOTH suck AND are decent, but those ones are pointless? :|

You guys can't read charts, huh?

Some are sucky. Some are decent. All are pointless.

I've said this from the beginning. There is little reason for Before Watchmen. There is nothing we really need to know - no backstory that needs fleshing out that DG and The Beard hadn't covered.

Sure, the first issue of Ozy was decent. It didn't shit on canon or what the creators established in the original, but what character development are we getting fleshed out? None. It's just a story. It may be a decent read, but in the end - pointless.

Is that bad? maybe not. I honestly think most comics stories are pointless. For example, Spider-Man is always the same Spider-Man. The core of the character is canon so no writer can really ever change the essence of what Spider-Man is. I can pick up a dozen or so consecutive issues of Spider-Man from any run in the series and there will be zero character development as far as Spidey goes. I really don't like serialized comics titles for that very reason.

Not to be an ass DoomsdayClock, but Avatar's interpretation is the correct one.

You're not being an ass, but you're wrong. I did the chart correctly.

I present the following (much funnier than my diagram) as proof...

If I were to interpret this chart as you have mine - some Zombies are Robots....

I think what the chart needed was an arrow pointing to the "pointless" part of it. As if to say "the prequel comics are here."

Yeah, one circle is a sub set, the other circle is a totally different set, the over lapping section represents the set of both circles

For example if one circle said "war fiction" and the other said "comics" the center section would be comics that are War Fiction.

I think it speaks volumes about the prequel comics and our interest in them that the thread could be derailed so easily.

I think I was pretty jazzed about em before they came out.
Now I could care less actually. Haven't read any of them.
Don't know if I will too.
