Post subject: Watchmen Movie L.A. Footage Event  Posted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 2:45 pm |

Guests will get a first look at select movie scenes at a press event hosted by Warner Brothers. http://www.watchmencomicmovie.com/092408-watchmen-movie-footage-event.phpJust got an invite in the mail from WB inviting me to an event on Oct. 6th in NYC where there will be showing some footage from the Watchmen film. The footage will be introduced in person by Zack Snyder and will be followed by a Q&A with Snyder and Dave Gibbons. Now, from what I've been told, this footage will be mostly never before seen stuff and will be actual scenes with dialog. I was not told how long the footage will run, but the guess is between 20 and 30 minutes. They will also be holding the same event in LA, but I'm not sure of the date. Of course, I am thrilled to have been invited and want to thank WB for asking me.

Thats awesome news, really happy for you  It was great having Kevin Smith's comments on the film, but scenes with dialogue and DDC's impressions will be the real test

 OMG - what if you miss the new production blog! Seriously, though - my jealous-o-meter has gone through the roof. I presume this is a special early showing for the press? Will you be able to tell us about it, or will it be more like the set visit which you still owe us details on  ? Regardless, congratulations and I'm sure we all really really want you to have a great time, especially with regards to what you see of the film

I've never wanted to be you more than I do right now... Dude, you are so lucky, I wish I could hear some dialogue just to see what the characters look and move like (more so than the trailer and stuff) but above all HEAR them. I know they have the look down (mostly  ) but I want to hear the Comedian and Viedt, and DM, and all of them actually...

That weekend has just gotten even better for me. I'll be at the UK Birmingham International Comic Show on Sunday Oct. 5th, attending the special "Watching the Watchmen" book release, and getting my advance copy signed by Mr. Gibbons - after seeing the footage that is heavily hinted to be shown there. Then on the 6th we have a new production vid as well as DDC giving us the scoop on this new footage 13 More Sleeps to the good stuff! Just had a thought. Dave Gibbons will likely be flying to NYC from Birmingham airport pretty much as soon as the BICS is over. I'll ask him to say "Hi" to DDC personally

It should be fun. I'm allowed to bring a guest (no, don't ask me, I'm bringing my wife), and there is a reception afterwards. Since the journal is being released the same day, forgive me if you don't see a post on this site that day about it - I might be a little busy.

Ah but DDC wouldn't want to do that even if he could get away with it! He's said it before that he strives to build up his friendly relationship with WB and not betray them in any way! Frankly, I'm glad as this thread proves the results.
