Nope. These guys all live near or in LA I believe. I don't think their event is happening on the same day. If I'm lucky, NY is happening first so I get to scoop them.

As well you should.

well i read the article you posted DD.

i must admit i am jealous.

try to get some pics of Zack and Dave or something (heck an autograph would be good too). also be sure to write down whatever u see. hopefully it will be like sin city, but not too much like sin city, where it was word-for-word and panel-for-panel. although we always love direct resemblances to the source material.

I don't think even 5 or 10 minutes is a great idea to tack in front of a Dark Knight re-release (Dark Knight's already a long movie honestly).

I expect they'll run a new Watchmen trailer on it, though.

Correct, but this "event" Doomsday is attending is not for anyone. It'll most likely be full with executives, and the footage he will end up seeing will be raw. Very raw. Likely no FX behind an actor as he does a stunt, or does a dialogue with another actor. It's thirty minutes of footage that, even if touched up, would be terrible to show. You'd be showing one sixth of the film three months early.

:D

I also watch Devin Faraci's twitter and he says, I quote, "after seeing 25 minutes of WATCHMEN I am staking my rep on Snyder fucking nailing this sucker."

Just read the IGN review by Todd Gilchrest, and I have to say it sounds freaking AWESOME. :D

The last scene featured Nite Owl (Stephen McHattie) and Laurie having just had sex aboard Nite Owl's ship. Snyder explained that the characters are set up so that their superheroics are somewhat fetishized and that both characters get a sexual thrill out of crime-fighting. The two decide to break into a maximum security prison and bust out Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) who has been arrested. The Owl ship lands at the prison and major fights ensue as Rorschach is freed from his cell and other prisoners riot. A midget runs from Rorschach, but he chases him into the bathroom. We see him cornered before the door shuts and, after a silence, there's a flush as Rorschach emerges. Water and blood spills from the crack at the bottom of the bathroom door.[/Quote]

Please tell me they got the timing of this scene correctly. It's vital, people!

I thought this quote here from the IGN article was interesting:
Quote:
After a series of demonstrations of his power including the dismantling of a tank and the molecular explosion of two gun-toting adversaries, Manhattan retreats to Mars, where he creates a magnificent, beautiful device known as the Doomsday Clock.

So Dr Manhattan's palace will literally be some kind of giant... well... doomsday clock? It's an interesting decision. On one hand, it fits with the whole "Doc's obsessed with time and clockwork" thing. But on the other hand, does that imply that Doc's still somehow interested with humanity's affairs on earth while he's in self-imposed exile (what with it literally being called THE DOOMSDAY CLOCK and all. I guess they must have spelled it out in the footage). I'm not really a Watchmen purist, so I'm just curious to see how that pans out.

Some interesting reading in those articles. Here's another one which I'm not sure has been posted, from comic book resources:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=18300

There's a scene in which Rorschach goes after Big Figure. It makes me wonder if they've cut the confrontation scene with Mrs. Shairp and Kovacs - unless he still goes back for his journal???
