Forgot to add: I love that remix you did. Seeing all the Blake vs Veidt scenes edited together gave me the chills.

Thanks guys, I sure had fun making it. I used Adobe Premiere.

Oh, there's the option for better quality now:

How did you get the new trailer in AVI format? Or did Adobe let you edit it as an MOV, without having to convert it.

I thought I'd put this in a separate post to make Curi's job easier...
I've just downloaded the new trailer in an HD .mov file. If anyone wants it I can megaupload it.

Haha! Just editing together my trailer, and it's split up three ways:
The Comedian's death, Jon becoming Dr M and the Keene Riots. I wanted that shot of the Owlship hovering above the mob, but I found that the bit from the first trailer was actually slightly different from the bit in the Spike footage. The first trailer's clip is longer, and in the Spike footage one of the protesters does the "I did it" pose.
The next clip I wanted to use was the bomb being thrown at the Owlship from the most recent trailer. When I saw it again, I saw the same protester make the same pose and realised it was exactly the same clip as the Spike one, except the bomb had been digitally added in! I had thought the guy throwing it was simply thumping the air!
It's got me wondering...also in the Spike footage, Laurie throws the Nostalgia bottle, yet we can't really see it. Had the bottle yet to be added in?

Sorry for the quality. Also, no dialogue since it is bound with the songs from the trailer which I don't use.

Wow. That actually really works for me. Using "Unforgettable" makes it downright haunting--now I can't wait to see the opening fight with that as the soundtrack.

Great job!

Here's my attempt:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XTrHB1kjv28

I don't think it's nearly as good as it could have been....it's so fast-paced that it's hard to take in all the images, save for the fact that we've seen them all before.
I think I'll have another go later.

You know, in the beginning I wasn't so sure if it would work out. But that was awesome, great job! Especially towards the end.

I was thinking of using Radiohead as well :D

I haven't yet started doing my fan trailer, but I will post it here when I have finished it.

Great work thus far, looking forward to other efforts :)

Not mine, but found this. They've intercut brief scenes not from the trailers, and have used the Rorschach footage, and Moore's voice, from the Mindscape of Alan Moore dvd.

If only they had used HD quality footage...

You sir, are very talented. I would love to see you do a moodier one with some Phillip Glass, but keeping some of the dialogue, especially the scream from Nite Owl.

When I get my hands on an AVI-formatted trailer, and cut up my own remixes, at least a few of them will be with Philip Glass. Although the real trailer did take up one of his best pieces, Pruit Igoe, there's still a lot of apt material of his to use. It'll be fun deciding which one.

I hope the soundtrack takes a cue from Glass. It really does elevate the footage to a Kubrickian level.

AYB, I think that worked surprisingly well. For anyone else making a video, it might be a good idea to keep the original opening intact, just so we can hear Blakes line.

No offense and I'm not trying to be a prick...

But many of you throwing out suggestions clearly have no idea at all about how audio works, do you? You can't cherry pick bits and pieces without consequences. Doing something like this, you can't just "oh, pluck that line there."

You'd have to have the raw elements to be able to do that.

I'm trying to brainstorm a good way to do mine with some of the dialog intact. Not sure how it'll come out though. We'll see.
