I really dont like it at all. Really doesnt suit Watchmen to me...They should have just used the original, it fits the tone perfectly at the end credits with veidt living and rorschach dieig and such... Its much more emotional http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=PMMZvbvUcAk ... The MCR version just losses all the emotion this song conveyed. I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan either but a good musician is a good musician, and they butchered his song. But ohwell, I'll be to busy heading to the exit when this plays anyway.

It's poo.

Punk > emo.
Dylan > emo.
Watchmen > MCR.

The fact that so many people hate it makes me like it more and more.

I might post the same phrase in the 'Religion and Philosophy' thread...

I don't like it at all, but I really wasn't expecting to. My Chemical Romance is a joke.

It's not bad enough to completely ruin the end credits, though -- unless, of course, they play it immediately.

I think it's alright. They achieved the vibe they were going for as much as they ever would. I'm iffy about it as an ending credit. Feels too light or something.

Can someone please upload it in mp3 (or avi or something)? For some reason I'm not able to see the video.

I hate MCR and bands like them with a passion, so I knew I would hate this.
But I did not think it would suck this much.

I hate it. The original Dylan version is one of my favourite songs of all time, and to hear it butchered by MCR like this is painful. The fact that this terrible version of the song is going to play over the end credits of Watchmen just makes it worse. It does not suit it at all. The Dylan version would have been a much better choice to play over the credits.

Judging from this 30 sec clip it sounds like a punkish version of dylans song. And I agree that it loses its emotional quality that would be perfect for the credits. I especially dislike the middle part where they say "desolation row" and the punk guitars after that. Bad choice, I didn't expect it to be this shitty.

Song sounds fine and it doesn't matter anyway. Do you think anyone will be talking 50 years from now about the impact of Watchmen's end credits, positive or negative? If you dislike the song there's no need to post that because it'd be indistinguishable from all the rest of the MCR hate.

I've found the full mp3. But I think I'll keep it to myself.

Am I the only one who actually really likes it?

What if the song works in the context of the film? Have any of us seen the film yet? No. Why don't we reserve judgement until we SEE the film?

Can't say I love it, but it doesn't sound too much like the more commercial emo MCR stuff. Got enough rock in it to make it more than tolerable and I think a punky track is perfect for the way I see the film ending. It's a Scorsese ending.

PM it to me.

I think that this song could possibly work over the end credits. It would be a bit unexpected, like so many parts in the book/movie. We'll just have to wait and see.

What's with these shite options?

I kept it simple. I could have had bullshit options like - "I like it, but not for Watchmen," "I hate it, but it's perfect for Watchmen," "I'm hearing impaired so I can't really tell," "Gerard way murdered my sister, so I'm biased." But it gets out of hand. Everyone falls nicely into one of those three camps in the context of what we're asking here.
