Now that it has been a good 2 and a half months since it came out i think it is a good time to have some reflections on the film. Not so much a review thread just your view and reflection or critique on the film.Is there certain this you would of cut out or shortened or maybe expanded on that would of made it better or not make it drag in certain spots?

i think what drags the film in certain spots is Laurie and Dan relationship

also having comedian's funeral earlier would of been a little bit better

i personally love the whole film but that's because i love the material but can see how it can drag for people

what are your reflection/changes/critiques/etc.

now that time has passed

An interesting thread.

Personally, I'm still not entirely sure. Ask me again when the DVD comes out.

This is kind of hard to put... there needs to be more exterior shots of the city and the people in it. If you watch the dark knight the whole movie has this feeling of the city is a character itself. I wish watchmen had that.

Not to mention the freeway. Cities always tend to be characters in great films. London in Children of Men, 28 Days/Weeks Later, LA in Collateral, etc.
Watchmen certainly needed that. Especially since it gets destroyed. Hopefully, the DC will cover that, though I am doubtful.

I also thought Tyler Bates score was fine but I think the film would have been much better with a orchrasta (sp) score.

Does anyone think that maybe some years down the road they will make another cut of the film. Maybe redo some things like the score.

I thought the scene with Jon on Mars was perfect with the music.

Oh I also forgot to add. They had that beautiful set of the city that they hardly used. When Rorshach walks down the street I thought It looked incredible. Hopefully there will be more of it in the DC. It cost em a lot of money I am sure. I thought they would use it more.

i agree on this i felt they zoomed up to the cops investigating comedian's apartment. They could slowly showed the city to show how gritty and dark it was maybe bypass some familiar side characters.
