Hi Doomsday Clock, would you mind to provide some info about this item's crew list? It's perfectly compiled and designed.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you mean who designed it? Dave Gibbons was going to reach out to those folks for me. I'll let you know what I hear.

Thank you!

Sorry for my English, it must suck. I mean if there's a credits for this item, or something printed right there just like a copyright-page of a book. Also, your scans are beautiful, just like the item itself I guess.

Hi there,

I recently got hold of a Watchmen black folder which has 12 insert folders which look like comics, each one containing a different promotional thing (badges, posters, the soundtrack, even a Dave Gibbons? print) thinking it was a dvd set. It doesn't contain the film though, so I wondered if anyone could let me know just exactly what it is I bought- in error as it turns out.
It seems to be one of 1000 based on the number on the sketch and the box.

Thanks

John

Yes- thanks! I couldn't find any details on it anywhere.

It was in a secondhand dvd shop in London. I was a bit fed up to find that the film wasn't part of it

Thanks for helping

John

^ Merged.

I don't know what's harder to believe: That the Holy Grail of Watchmen merchandise -- given only to those Watchmen fans and press members chosen by Warner Bros. -- found its way so soon into a secondhand shop in London, or that the guy who purchased it didn't even know what it is!

All jealousy and incredulity aside, I'm glad to hear that this one is accounted for. If the previous owner was willing to pawn it off somewhere, then it could easily have ended up in a landfill somewhere. Treasure it, jacksback.

It is a very well put together set- thanks again for the help identifying it. I'll try to look after it and make sure it doesn't fall into little hands after the badges

I WANT IT I LIVE IN LONDON

I wonder how much did you get it for? I'm guessing you wouldn't have payed that much if you thought it was a second hand dvd.

I think that someone who thought the movie sucked gave it to a second hand shop.
Still I am gobsmacked.

And by the way welcome to the forum, are you a Watchmen fan or just curious about what you picked up, and are you here to stay?

Thanks for the welcome- - I was a big fan of the comics when they came out but managed to miss the film at the cinema so thought I'd lucked out to find this set just after the dvd came out. I paid a little more than just a dvd cost ( I'm not sure i will make you feel better if I tell you what that amount was) but I honestly didn't know it was quite such a big deal to all of you.
I joined to get some help with identifying it- I looked on ebay but as its isnt in fact related to the dvd release, that might explain why it didn't show up.

EDIT: I should have added I bought the film and yes, I'm a fan!

You got a deal.

My guess is that it would sell for around $100-$150 on Ebay - maybe more.

On the Rorschach paper there it says he was born in 1942.

I thought he was born in 1940?

1942 is only a year older than my dad. XD

Anyway, the items are really cool. I just thought I'd point that out though since I thought he was born in 1940.

The timeline and dates were altered for the film...

That's all fine and good but if it says 1942 then that still doesn't make any sense. He's supposedly thirty-five in the movie. Doesn't quite add up.

It's weird having him be 35 though because some other stuff in the movie doesn't add up...

I said it once and I'll say it again. That reporter that said Rorschach's age is just incompetent. This takes care of the guy reading the newspaper in front of child Rorschach. The newspaper that is from the wrong year.

Also, this way Rorschach wouldn't be Seventeen at the crimebusters meeting.

What the hell, movie timeline? What the hell?

EDIT: He's supposed to be born in 1940 in the comic and 1950 (if you believe Mr. Newsman) in the movie.

So if it says 1942....What the hell?

That's closer to the comic book age and then he would be 43 in the movie.
