Right; let me point out the obvious for the hard of thinking - this thread is entitled 'Watchmen after the Hype', yes? The idea behind it was to revisit the film and analyse how it holds up at various times after it's release. There's no time limit on this.

I'm sorry if this wasn't obvious to you. Once again, if this thread personally offends you then DON'T FUCKING READ IT - do you need this in any other languages? Can I make this any clearer for you?!

I find it very amusing that you consider your own posts constructive and everyone else's not so much. Also that you're resorting to making shit up.
Anyway, to answer the quoted question: the very first sentence of your post that bumped the thread was insulting, and everything thereafter.

I find it amusing that you think your opinion is the absolute authority.

Anyway, I lost interest in anything you had to say after you wrote off most cinemagoers and everyone who I know who has seen 'Watchmen' as idiots.

Once again, please point out where I directly insulted anyone in my initial post.

Actually, with Kingmob gone the title of "flamer" was passed onto me for various fights I was in (and nearly kicked off for), but you can take it if you want.

And I think maybe we should all migrate away from this thread, kind of like what Ziller suggested, and let ourselves cool down a bit

Hey all,

Just got the word that I'll be heading back to the WATCHMEN New York backlot! Woo hoo! No, it's not for reshoots. Ha!

Turns out Supernatural has requested my presence there for a scene or two. For those of you keeping score, the backlot appeared in this week's Fringe with that guy arranging "accidents" in the opening sequence of that episode.

This will be my first trip back to the set! Looking forward to it!

Thanks!

Just realized I should have posted this in the topics that don't require their own thread. Oops...

been awhile but i want to ask you guys if you think it was a mistake to show this shot in the movie
Image

i think back and i think it makes it way to obvious that Matthew Goode is the villain since he is 6'2 and the rest of the cast is relatively short.

you think it would of been better to not show this shot and just have Adrien come full blast into battle?

Maybe, then again this shot is allowed in the movie because unlike comics, you can't go back.

maybe it should have been an ominous shadow on the floor rather than a silhouette?

Well remember, Alan Moore had 11 Chapters to set Adrian up as the Villain Zach had 2.5 hours. He had to do some stuff like this early to plant the seed

I think it's only obvious if you assume it's one of the "Watchmen". Which is not necessarily the case. It could have been Roy Chess.

At any rate, it's not a mistake. Zack and Larry and co. clearly worked on precisely what to show and what not to show. The effect, and I believe it is the desired one, is that when you watch the film again it's clear it's Veidt, but not the first time.

There's a far clearer shot later on, just before he lifts up Blake. It's the stunt-double, but you can see that he's white, etc.

Agreed, they kind of want you to guess, like any good mystery you meet the criminal at the beginning, but it's not until the end you know who did it

That's just terrible. But yeah, I can see how some one that hadn't really researched the movie or read the book wouldn't know right away
