Guys, I've been saying this for months; Watchmen is a lost Kubrick.

It really is. Kubrick is known for his movies being incredibly polarizing when they came out.

I don't know if I disagree with this or not.

I still have to see A Clockwork Orange and Dr. Strangelove, though.

I think Snyder's obsessive compulsiveness to detail is reminiscent of Kubrick.

Well at least you're honest. You'd best go see them ASAP (You'll also understand just why Dr. Strangelove has a 100% on RT).

I'll get on it, sir.

Seriously. After I finish the movies I'm currently watching.

the point is that whenever kubrick released a film, critics would go on and off about it. he's trying to say it's the same for watchmen, but it's really not.

Well fuck me sideways, are you going to explain it or just be smug about how nobody else gets it?

You guys seem to think I'm comparing the quality of the movie to Stanley Kubrick's movies, which I'm not. I don't think it's close. I do agree, however with that reviewer in the video about Watchmen the movie being tonally similar to A Clockwork Orange. And it just so happens that A Clockwork Orange was panned as being a glorified porno when it came out, similar to some reviews about Watchmen. I was just saying that Watchmen seems to be getting the same treatment Kubrick's movies normally got around release and I believe if he were alive longer that Watchmen seems like the type of movie he might tackle.

Everyone knows that the Watchmen was all about BLUE DICK.

This. It's what Alan Moore intended the actual message of Watchmen to be about.

There isn't really anything I've watched that has the same tone as Watchmen, but everyone is saying that it is the Blade Runner of our generation, so...fair enough.

They mean that for different reasons, not because they have a similar tone.
