I'd be very surprised indeed if DC and Warner Bros. allowed anyone to make another Watchmen movie at any point in the immediate future.

Anyone who's read the Hamm or Hayter drafts of the screenplay knows just how much worse this movie could have been. To that end, it's not exactly news that Greengrass called his intended approach a "wider re-imagining."

More like dodged a nuke!

Let's hope WATCHMEN is left alone. The movie wasn't perfect, but, then again, name one that is. But it was the best version we could have hoped for.

Last thing we need is a re-imagining like they're doing with the Spider-Man franchise. Because if that happened with WATCHMEN it would be with the intent to turn it into a money-making machine by "re-imagining" it as a viewer-friendly, watered-down mess.

The youtube Watchmen Saturday morning cartoon is a hoot, but do we want to see an adaptation of the graphic novel along these lines. Maybe some do, I don't.

Good one

Hooray to Zack, I really loved what he did with the novel, as I've said countless times before, he fucked up some stuff, but I really can't think of anyone who would've done it better at the time, sure, you can mention anyone you want, but it would've been incredibly difficult to find someone who REALLY would've wanted to do the movie and that would've stayed true to the source at the same time.

So in those regards, I have to say that we should be happy that we didn't see an amnesiac Rorschach running around Amsterdam while fighting off people with martial arts

I like Greengrass a lot. He makes fucking fantastic movies. But despite my issues with Snyder's version, I'm glad he ended up making it instead of Greengrass. But to be honest, I'm looking forward to Paul's adaptation of whatever other comic book he sees fit, and I'm sure it'll be great.

Hurm............as long as he doesn't try to "re-imagine" whatever he chooses as a project, then I agree.

So, if he doesn't do Watchmen, what GN do you think he will tackle?

Well, there's always a "reboot" of anything, which.......really isn't a good idea.

There's also "Y: The Last Man" (which I'm reading now), and even Green Lantern, but if I'm not mistaken, that has been taken already, right ?

Yeah, Green Lantern is being done. If the previous attempts had not been so awful, I think that Greengrass could have done a good Punisher, but I am not sure I want to see another Punisher film now. I think Daredevil also has possibilities of being a good one for him to adapt.
