Sorry, I was just thinking of this one time where it seemed like several forum members were constantly at each other's throats. And I remember a specific incident where AYB felt he needed to address the forum, because he thought people were annoyed with him for the frequency of his posts. And was there something about someone making a fake AYB account? I don't think I was posting regularly at the time, so I missed the argument, but I do remember AYB going into a self imposed exile from WCM for a few weeks. Maybe you guys remember what I'm talking about? Anyways, I had been under the assumption he was banned, since he abruptly stopped posting. I also thought he might be a particular member of the Vivarium, after this person had made a comment where they slammed this forum.

AYB was never banned. I think a few forum members were breaking his balls a little too much and he left. He's never been back since then, but does post on the Facebook page.

I'm sorry, I meant I thought Clint had been banned as a result of some encounter with AYB. I distinctly remember AYB saying someone had followed him here from the IMDb boards, making a joke account. This was back when AYB was posting at a high frequency. But my memories are a bit hazy, and there was a lot of arguing back then.

Nah, AYB left for similar reasons as Smutty, though maybe they wouldn't enjoy having their motives compared to one another's.

More confusion.

I'm not talking about AYB's most recent self imposed exile. I'm talking about a specific incident that happened long before you even joined the forum. But I may be getting the reasons he left mixed up. Anyway, here was his first goodbye from 2008: http://www.watchmencomicmovie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=411&view=previous

Well, that was fun. A fun little trip down memory lane.

You considered it, though, however briefly, way back when.

I don't think I considered it. People were annoyed with his post frequency, but he wasn't doing anything ban worthy. I think I PM'd him saying that he may want to think about decreasing his post volume for a while, which I believe he did. It was months, perhaps years later, when AYB decided to not post here anymore. Again, I don't know why, and he's still a frequent poster in the Facebook group.

And CLINT was never banned either.

I honestly can't remember a time that I banned someone for "bad forum behavior." It may have happened once, and I'm sure I had a good reason. Maybe Curiosity banned a few folks, but, like me, he usually uses banning as the last possible option when all else has been tried.

We both however ban at least 2-3 SPAMmers a week.

SmilingSymmetry is the one I remember. I might have cheered a little.

If memory serves, he was a well-rounded journeyman irritant, equal opportunity offender-type. His final-straw last post was "And no one cares" in direct response to something you had said. There was a response from you which seems to have been deleted, which I remember being essentially, "Okay, that's enough from you."

And that was that.

Yeah. That's a good way to get banned! He may have been the only one!

I've banned a few members for bad behavior. Real Life Rorschach is still my favorite case in point.

Almost two times? What happened with one of the screenings? Did you have to leave?

^He's a spambot. Caught him sneaking in links by typing them in black. Bastards are getting smarter.
