A new Collector's Edition of Watchmen releases November 13. It will include the Ultimate Cut as the main feature, and the Director's Cut as an extra. The graphic novel is also included. http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9416

This makes me question if the DC will go down as the definitive version.

There are five versions of Blade Runner, but the Final Cut is the one the studio presents/markets as the definitive version. The other versions are basically presented as extras. That seems to be happening with Watchmen now. The UC is presented as the movie, and the DC as an extra.

I don't like the idea of the director's version being on disc 2 as a mere extra.

"Really the Director's cut is the movie. ... Whilst there is an ultimate edition to follow it isn't a cut it's an experiment we wanted to do with The Black Freighter." --Zack Snyder

depends how and when you saw it. if it was on a new DVD in the last 5 years, probably the Final Cut.

Torrent, a few months ago.

I think it was WJK who told me that if it ends with Deckard going through an elevator, then it's also likely that I saw the Final Cut.

More specifically, Harrison Ford doesn't narrate the Final Cut. The narration is only in the theatrical cut, and has a "happy ending" because the studios and critics were too stupid back in '82 to understand anything (this is the legitimate reason btw for the theatrical cut).

I'm slightly upset that there isn't more to this set.
No new retrospective documentary or something?
It seems like someone at WB said "Hmm. Watchmen. It could make us a little more money. Lets juice the fans..."
Repackage the Ultimate Cut, throw in a paperback of the graphic novel and voila.
What... person... who isn't already a fan would shell out the money for this?
Under the assumption they saw the movie and haven't bought it already, who's left?
Fans? How many Watchmen fans do you think don't already own the GN?

What's even worse... is I've bought a DVD twice just cause the 2nd one honestly had cooler looking box art...
and I'd do that again with this set. Though I'd consider selling my UC set first. And mine has the Director's Cut in with the complete motion comic case. Blu Ray even. All of it.

I've just never rebought something that ends up being $74 dollars. Ouch...
Though, at the end of the day,I'm the target demographic for this new set.
A sucker willing to shell out the money.
I dunno if I'm proud of that at all.
