Veit looks different, but i can take him a little bit more serious. A Darker purple cape works better.

Id sure like to get a cool pic of moloch in costume!!! considering how these costumes are more intense ,his should be real neat.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't want a first look at Moloch unless Rorschach is right behind him (or tackling him from a fridge).

Agreed. There are certain characters that will look better in motion. I have a feeling a pic of Manhattan could stink up the place.

One thing I just thought of: will Veidt have the mask on for the Crime Busters meeting? He needs a mask, right? I mean, he was keeping his identity a secret for a while.

Also, looking at Laurie, I think that might be how she looks like it the 60's. It never meant much sense that she would have kept the same hair style all those years. She's a fashion conscious girl. She would have updated her look a little. Maybe, when she tries on the costume later on, it will look too tight on her. I dunno. I'm just rambling.

Hurm. It kind of looks like he is doing a body builder type flex or pose. I just noticed that. I bet if we saw the rest of his body, we would see one leg out in front of the other.

I think someone should try to lighten the shadow on his forehead. I think his hair line is higher up than it appears. Right now he has a thick head of hair. I think it should be thinning out on top to make him look older.

 ... :o ... :) ... :D
Comedian: Amazing. I get chills. My definite favorite, out of these pics anyway.
Rorschach: Again, amazing. The mood in the pic suits him perfectly.
Ozymandias: The only one that doesn't exactly "WOW" me. I don't know about this "update", but I'll reserve final judgment until I see it in motion.
Silk Spectre: HAWT!!! I'm not liking the battle stance, though, I was hoping for something a bit more casual out of her first pic, as she is a little reluctant about the crimefighting anyway. But still awesome.
Nite Owl: I'm lovin' it. Especially the Owlship in the background. A great transition; they even got the gut!

*squeals with fanboy glee*

My faith in this film has been pushed so high, it had better be the best thing since sliced bread.

Now bring on the Doc! :D

We've already gone over that, Mothman.

Personally, I think that he has nipples precisely because of Batman. Let's face it, "bat-nipples" has become synonymous with every campy wrong turn that Joel Schumacher made with one of the greatest superheroes of all time. For Snyder to take such a wrong turn and apply it to the sculpted, muscular ideal of Ozymandias... well, that's just great parody right there.

Snyder is taking a dig at Schumacher, and no one deserves it more.

Is it me or does Matthew Goode not look anything like Matthew Goode?
I saw him in the Lookout, and now he has hair he looks more like a blonde Casey Affleck than anyone else.

Come on guys. It is all about confusion. As Zack said, he wanted this movie have the same impact in heroes movies as the comic did in it's medium. It's natural that Nite Owl in special should have a lot in common with batman begins suit! I believe the essence of the characters is there, you can see in their faces.

I can almost say that the nipple in Veidt's costume is a little joke about Veidt's controversial sexual orientation, as well as Joel Schumacher's (kinda reflected in batman forever and so on).

My Comments:

Rorschach= By the books. Great, Perfect!
Silk Spectre= Very sexy, I liked her outfit better her then in the book!
Nite Owl= Too much of a change, I think I need some time to grow to it
Comedian= Great work, very gritty feel to it. And there is the smiley! :)
Ozymandias= Reminds me of Greek warriors chest plates, well done!

Very Tobey Maguire/Peter Petrelli from Heroes look going on there...

I honestly thought Watchmen to be a serious vigilante comic not a parody.....now the illusion is shattered........Also the pictures look really cheesy in my perspective, especially the comedian. I can't put my finger on what it is, but something about it just looks, well, fake.

I think we have the parody level and the irony, but there are other deeper levels that only the movie, if well done, will show. Those pictures can't show it, I think.

True. Imagine if you never read Watchmen and then you saw a Dave Gibbons Nite-Owl illustration. I think most people would think the character looked so rediculous they would assume there could be no way to read the comic and take it seriously. Then if they actually read it, it would gradually make sense why they looked the way they do.

I think Zack and company pushed all of the costumes into that "silly" realm while maintaining an aesthetic that most audiences would identify with.

Let me put it this way. If Gibbons had drawn Watchmen today - even if it was still set in 1985 - I would wager that his costumes would reflect the fetishized super hero aesthetic we are all used to today. If you think about it, the only super hero movie around in the 80's was Superman, and Christopher Reeve donned "silly tights." Nobody could visualixe where the super hero costume would evolve to, not even Mr. Gibbons.

Now, today, Brandon Routh's Superman has the toned down colors, plastic abs and rubberized textures that we're now seeing in all super hero costumes, even our Nite-Owl and Ozy. Even Routh's cape was rubber.

For some of us, I think it just has to sink in a little. I mean, we have been looking at Ozy's aerobics headband and Nite-Owl's banana shaped cape for 20 years.

Just made this. Weird thing is, I think Nite Owl's movie suit is fine as is, just thought some people would like to see what would happen if they took a more comic accurate appearance.
