I have a random (stupid) question that I've been wondering about ever since I first bought the GN. Is anyone else seriously disturbed by the photograph of Alan Moore on the back? It feels like he's taking small parts of my soul every time I look into his eyes! What does he want with my soul, use it in a magic spell or a Glycon-ritual?

As an unimportant semi-related digression, after nagging at a non-comic reading friend for a long time to read the GN, he picked it up, looked at the back, saw mr Moore's picture and shouted "I must read this!". Now he loves the book.

I'm sorry if I'm just rambling, but I guess this is one of those stupid thoughts undeserving of a topic of its own. Great idea for creating the thread, Kingmob!

convince you to do not watch the movie?

now just as a matter of curiosity i'll post some cool JEH pics here...not really 'cool'...it's more because i've been checking them lately and i noticed that if JEH isn't a perfectly detailed portrait of RR - if you think that way of course - he carries his same spirit...i mean, even when he was a kid!

take a look

Image

it's very hard to find a pic where he's not smiley (the guy must be thankful to his bone now)...but try to picture him serious and without the beard or mustache...even the shape of his face is so alike

I see the young walter cutting the dress with the hot scissors here

just did it because it amazed me

btw, 90% of google results relate him with watchmen

Um, not sure if I understand what you're saying...
If you're asking me if I'm going to see the movie, then yes, I will, no matter how bad people say it is. In the end, if I don't like it, there will always be the graphic novel. To me they are two different beasts, the GN being what it is and the movie simply being a couple of fans' interpretation of the GN.

In that case, I think its more like he's saying "Oh Blackmore, you old bean, I don't want you to watch this movie, but I leave it entirely in your hands. Now, just hold still, wot?" *steals soul*

it is true that american indians believed that photograph machines could steal their souls

but a very photograph stealing someone's soul is something entirely new for me

Does Rorschach have a six pack? And why doesn't Nite Owl have one?

I always imagined Rorschach just being very well toned, not ripped or anything. In my mind he has no six pack. Not sure if theres an official answer, though.

No, this thread was set-up to house all the stupid threads that people start up because while taking a shit one morning, an utterly minor point popped into their head and they thought they'd start a discussion on here knowing full well it wouldn't be sustainable.

It wasn't to house inane comments like yours.

:P :P :P 8-) 8-) ;)

Which is what I said, minus the slamdown on your inane post about Watchmen characters becoming expressions. That was quite possibly the biggest troll post and attempt to ruin a thread that I've ever seen (and yes, I see the irony). Of course I wouldn't expect you to understand that as your grasp of the English language is worse than a lobotomised chimp.

I lost almost all my interest in this board the moment you turned up. And no, Im not the owner, Im just someone who'll voice their opinion.

dude...this is the last time I'll say that and I hope u'll understand: I don't give a damn to what you think. I seriously can't figure why someone gets into a forum to...do that thing you do. you participation here is minimal and it is - very optimisticly saying - focused on judging the carachter of other's comments. i think that's inane. you're wasting your time here, and as you didn't deny, you've been doing the same in other watchmen forums, even paramount's. you have a problem. i don't have to bother with you. so, please, don't bother with me, i took time and gave you chances; from now you're in my foe list. you'll be talking to walls, good luck.

I can't even remember the Paramount board, and so whether I posted on it or not is moot. As for the other boards I haven't got a clue what you're wittering on about.

'from now you're in my foe list'

What an odd little chap you are, but please continue, it's highly amusing.

It's a real feature of the board. When you are set as a 'foe' in someone's preferences they can't see any of your posts, so Mere won't be able to see any of your posts from now on.

it's funny, but giving it a second thought, I guess I'm quitting. I mean, I'll be probably leaving this forum for good in the next few hours. i'll just think it over a little more, I don't like to do nothing in a rush or in the burst of emotions.

i'm not playing the crying baby here, but it's just so unpleasant, so sad to come to a place where u'll find people with things in common and find out that someone judges you because he finds your 'grasp on english language' poor and your ideas brainless or well, whatever u write. i mean, this is a place for discussions and before it, i just went to absolutepunk.net and had my Watchmen 'meal' everytime i wanted to discuss anything. of course I found more here. And i really like coming here. but Kingmob's behavior, for me, is just unbearable. if he finds any comfort in learning that he hitted me, there you have it, pal. i just can't find any pleasure of being here anymore, everytime i open a thread with my quoted posts. what's the point of it, after all? You got it King, congratulations.

since he's here for a longer time than I do, perhaps he has the 'right' of keeping his seat. so be it. if we don't see each other again elsewhere, thanks for everything.

There is no excuse for unpleasant behaviour. Ad hominen insults, or name-calling are the refuge of those who cannot support their arguments with rationality or logic.

You may not agree with someone, fair enough, this site amongst thousands of other thrives on differing view points and the comments and debates that are spawned as a result of that, but one always has to bear in mind that you are responisbile for your behaviour, and act accordingly.

I previously called out Vynson on his comments and tone, I will not accept people adopting that with me. The argument, he knows he's being a dick and apologises sometimes for it, is not an acceptable excuse.

If you are about to post something, before you hit submit, reread it. Then ask yourself the question, "If someone posted this as a response to something I had written, would I get irritated, or annoyed or upset". If the answer is yes, then modify the post.

I have had several involved debates with people on the site, but with one notable exception (the Vynson incident previously mentioned) I like to think I've been civil and polite with everyone. Even though I am not a moderator, nor have any editorial power here, as a member of the community, I feel compelled to post to ask people to not directly attack others, even if you do not agree with them.

Treat them with the respect you would have others treat you.

i agree. i thought it over and i guess it's needless doing it...since i can ignore him and he barely appears around here, i shouldn't care. i believe that when kingmob finally step in a movie theater 03.06.09, it will be quite lonely...i find no other explanation and consequence for someone like him. to the hell... :?

He probably does, probably not as defined as most people would visualize but I'll assume he does because he's a streetfighter/gymnist.

Nite Owl doesn't have one because he hasn't been "adventuring" for 10 or so years. A "flabby failure" some might say xD.
