It's actually very funny in it's proper context isn't it? Damn I miss Juvenal like an old friend. My Sleaze Brothers and Bomb The Bass/Acid House observations stand, however!

I dont know if this has been said yet but the incredibls. has a ton of similaritys with Watchmen. The court act the get superheros baned the killing of super heros and them joing at the end to fight. I think disny riped it from Watchmen and made a family version.

Not to be completely asshole-ish but "irontrooper678" has been the definition of a facepalm.

I can't say I'm a fan of any post that begins with "I dont know if this has been said yet".

Acoording to my sister, this book is covered in Watchmen references. The characters can CD(shape-shift) into animals or characters, one of the main characters CDs into Nite Owl II. Here are a few quotes: "....Or the lab accident that turned Jon Osterman into Dr.Manhattan." "...He was going to CD into something no one else had thought of. And two one of his favorite masked heroes was Nite Owl II, from the classic graphic novel Watchmen." "He read it [Watchmen] so many times the novel's vividly colored pages and blood-soaked panels had faded." This is the Cover:

Exiles issue #78. Btw, Exiles is a very good comic and Morph (the guy dressed as Rorschach) is always making references to this kind of stuff.

To add to some of the Lost connections that were made.
In the episode "Further Instructions", Locke uses a can of hairspray as a flame thrower like Rorschach.
Now, since his death has been revealed, it's possible this upcoming season will focus on "who killed John Locke" (assuming, which I do, that his death was a murder and not a suicide). Although this is a weak link to the Comedian...

AYBGerrardo wrote: I watched an episode of Murder, She Wrote once. Someone was murdered. Blatantly a Watchmen reference. OK, maybe this one is better. Both Locke and Blake are pushed/thrown through a window of an apartment. Although Locke survives. As for my previous theory, I did say it was a weak link. However, it's not totally a weak one. In the third season of Lost, a major revelation of the show was that some of the characters do manage to get off the island, and that their lives may not be better for it. It was also revealed that someone close to them had died, and from dialog spoken by one of the characters, he was not well liked, although one of them does go to the funeral. The mystery of the season was "who was in the coffin?". When it was revealed to be John Locke, the shows "man of faith" , the character who seemed destined to be involved with the island, and a character linked to other characters on the show, the big mystery created was then "why is he in the coffin?". How did he die? Was he murdered? If so, who killed him? And how did he leave the island, or why, given how convinced he was that they were all meant to stay on it? This is what elevates him to near Comedian status, as his death may tie the seasons story lines , maybe even the story of the entire show, together.

HEroes being outlawed, "Don't wear capes...", Fake Aliens built on an island, Rich villain trying to do "the right thing", Heroes start missing, a hero starts missing the old days and comes back, etc... I think there is actually a thread about the two.

And yet Brad Bird denies even being influenced by Watchmen. It's a pity too - he's a talented guy and I wish I could respect him more than I do.

I agree, but I have even less respect for Tim "Let's have a former superhero try to blow up NYC for world peace" Kring. "Watchmen? What's that? Excuse me interviewer, I'm informing my staff to lie if asked about this ninety seconds ago."
