I have introduced Watchmen to about......2 people :? . I've alerted many, many more to its existence, but they just don't give a crap.

Only one, and she hasn't read the novel yet. She hasn't read any comics, so I'm not sure if she'll ever pick it up. Most of my friends had already heard of it.

Only my dad. I convinced him to watch the movie, but I can't convince him to read the comic...

I've told everyone about it. Can't even count all the people I've told. I think I can persuade a lot of them into watching the movie. Unfortunately, not so sure about the book. Man, what is this world coming to when someone can't pick up a little book. Anymore, so much is media influenced & not literature influenced. So many movies based on books & yet, only the movies have been watched. The books lay, untouched, on a shelf, gathering dust, never to be opened....

I've successfully convinced my sister into reading the book, which she liked but thought was really, really violent...which it is, but I guess the scenes that shocked her the most were the attempted rape of Sally and the dead dogs. She watched the movie and thought it was good, though she got squeamish at the dead dog scenes and the circular saw prison scene.

I've told many people, but I have only truly introduced Watchmen to a few people. One, my now-ex girlfriend who took a copy that wasn't even mine, never gave it back and presumably never read it. Two, my current girlfriend who liked (she might've said "loved" but I don't want to project my own feelings about the novel just in case) it but couldn't stand the movie due to its graphic violence. Three, my friend Fred who claims to have read it before I told him about it but when he said he read it, he stated that "I did not expect Adrian at all." Weird? I think so.

My group of friends, 7 or 8 approximately, although i introduced them to the movie to be more specific, some said to me that they would read the comic, although i think that's unlikely.

Even if they read the comic, i don't think they would put as much thought into the whole story as much as i did, there are so many things to discuss or notice in the comic, and yet i think that some of my girl friends will only have eyes for how "awesome" Rorschach is

Well, none yet. But as of next week that might change. I'm at university and part of my course includes a module called Fans and Audiences. OUr lecturer asked us to bring something we consider ourselves a fan of in next session. So bring on the Watchmen GN and DVD. :D

I got my mom to watch the DVD recently.

I'm still trying to get my sister to either watch it or read the comic.

Right now, I'm letting one of my best friends borrow the GN, and so far he likes it. I'm trying to get my best friend to buy it.

After all these years of living with my Watchmen mania, it was a college friend that finally got my sister to read the graphic novel.

Anyway, we watched the DC together during her last visit home and I'm glad to say she's a fan now.

I desperately want someone to watch the Ultimate Cut with me but no one will. People tend to shy away when they hear that it's three and a half hours long.

They'll all come crawling back, though, when I write my best-selling children's book entitled The Lonliest Fan.

I haven't really introduced anyone into actually reading the comic. My youngest brother saw the movie and wants to read the comic, but that's about it. I've been trying to get my older brother to see the movie since he's a pretty big film buff, so I'd like to see what he thinks about it without having read the novel. Other than that, anyone I know who's read the novel already knew about it before I mentioned it to them.

Welcome to the forum, Fille.

(A saddened girl?)

To stick to the topic:

I've introduced.....three people now, I believe. One to the comic, through the movie. And two just to the movie.
