it has nothing to do with the Watchmen GN.

in all fairness he's relating Doug Roth to real world media people, Doug Roth is from the GN and he's discussing why he hates people like Doug Roth. Also He's making a point about how the media in our world is liberal, we lost Vietnam; and in the Watchmen word the media is more conservative (controlled by Nixon and The Comedian a bit) and we won Vietnam.

He goes about it in an extreme way, but still he is discussing the topic at hand

Gotta love freedom of interpretation

Least favorite characters?

If we're talking main characters, I'd have to say Ozy. Not that I hate him or anything. I like the character. It's just that he was the one we knew least about, which kind of alienated him from the others. At least that's how I felt about him.

As for minor characters, I never cared much for Joey (Josephine), Malcolm's wife, or Sally's husband (Schexnayder?).

...I think that is the one, true flaw of the graphic novel. Ozzy. The mystery/story would've been SO much more intriguing and actually mysterious if Alan had explored Ozzy as much as he had the other Crimebusters. It could've easily been done without even hinting at the ending.

Joey.

I find her to be quite sterotypical: her "I wanna be straight!" line makes me cringe.

I find that the females are most annoying... is Moore a shovenist?

I don't think so, I saw in another post that this was commenting on how females are portrayed in comics (pre watchmen)

I personally like all of them just more than others, Silk Spectre would have to be it, she is just the character I least relate to, my only reasoning is that perhaps she is the female and that it why. Other than that I can't really find any character I don't like as every single character is important to the plot and whole of the story.

She is pretty much a character-device for Manhattan, if it wasn't for her, then Moore would've had to get VERY creative to get Dr. Manhattan out of Mars.

I understand that, I was just saying she was the character I least related to, however important she was to the plot or not. Perhaps it is a difference in opinion, I like the Comedian she does not. :D

My least favorite is probably The Silk Spectre 1. I just wish she would have accepted the Comedian and had a relationship.. :(

She technically did accept him, no relationship but she did acknowledge that she had feelings for him and ended up having a kid with him as well. Not sure if it was just me but in the GN and the movie I saw a hint of a smile after he did try to rape her. I could be taking it out of context with HJ saving her, but you never know with how subtle everything else is.
