Just copy the line in word for word and who said it. No commentary. If you like, put the chapter and the page so we can find it.

Mine is from Chapter XI, page 14, when Rorschach asks Nite-Owl if he's nervous entering Veidt's Antarctic lair...

"Well, my stomach feels weird and my balls are all shrivelled up, so, yeah, I guess "nervous" will do."

It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us.

Just to be contrary: "Sure, right next to the flamethrowers."

Nice bit of comic relief, you know? :P

These lines remind me just how damned cool the dialogue is in the story.

 Great stuff!

"You know what I wish? I wish all the scum of the Earth had one throat and I had my hands about it..." is awesome but as stupid simple as it is, no line affects me like...

"Well? What the hell are you waiting for? Do it. ...DO IT!"

Hurm. To me, there isn't just ONE LINE line in Watchmen that stands out. Each character in their entirety are amazing to me. Even when I think about the parts that hit home.. they're usually long speeches. Some stuff that comes to mind:

- A lot of Rorschach. Especially at the beginning and in his sessions with Dr. Long.
- A lot of Comedia. Especially at the flashback meeting & Vietnam in Chapter 2.
- The entire scene and dialogue between Laurie / Jon on Mars.

... on just flipping through right now, one line I really like is "Blake is different. He understands perfectly... and he doesn't care."

But even at that, the entire thought is more impressive to me. The novel is just so cohesive and thought-out. It's not like you can easily seperate one zinger or moment of deep thought encapsulated in a sentence. You can find it in long passages and spread across the entire canvas of each character.

"Yes, I think I'll create some." (Jon talking about human life)

and

"A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference. Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts."

Jon totally has the best lines.

I prefer the next line.

"Fine! I'm fuh, I'm fine! And I'm, and I'm glad your fine, too! And uh, and uh... Oh, God. Please don't kill anybody."

Everything about those two panels was perfect.

hehe my version of curiosity's current sig would be shocking!
well what i meant was y'know that coke was called coke because it contained cocaine yeah? well that obviously had to be scrapped eventually - maybe moore's referring to a weakness in rorschach's nostlagia?
